1990 Pontiac Grand Prix - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Car starts but will not idle
I have the same car. My solution was to first test the TPS, throttle position sensor, test is on Autozone site. 2nd, test the three wires that go to the TPS for integrity(simple volt meter set to ohms scale- readings should be close to zero if the wires are intact and not broken or touching a ground.) TPS sensor runs around 17 to 28 dollars. Ill bet you a dollar to a doughnut hole thats your problem my friend

There is an adjustment on the side of the trans that changes how it shifts. Try looking online about it.

How do i change the spark plugs and is it easy
yes...if you car is a 6 cylinder..then there are 6 plugs...just find 6 identical wires that all murge on one device (ignition coil) follow the wires to the other end where they are connected to the spark plugs... just pull the wires loose..then unbolt the sparkplug.. bolt the new one in.. then reconnect the wires in the same spot( do 1 at a time so they dont get mixed up...

Push down on gas pedal bogging then goes
It could possibly be that there is a wore spot on your throttle position sensor (TPS). It basically is connected to the cable running to the gas pedal and tells the computer how much you're pushing down on the pedal. If you find that it's bogging down more and more often (like when you need more power climbing hills and never really gets going), it could be that your catalytic converter is clogged, but this will eventually throw some check engine lights.

Where can i find the mass air senor on a 1990 pontiac grand prix please help!!!!!!!
This car doesn't use a Mass Airflow Sensor, it uses another way of measuring the air entering the engine. The problem you have is likely caused by the problem listed below.
ngine stalling issue at low speeds
This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or
Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake
while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will
try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30
minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and
disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base
idle control

Coolant fans
Check your fuse block to see if the fuse is burnt. Check in the gloveboxand under hood. It may also be a bad fan relay located in the block.
