1994 Nissan Quest - Page 3 Questions & Answers
My 1994 nissan quest dies when set on drive,,,or stalls really bad.
Engine stall or RPM fluctuates
at idle.
This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use
carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC
chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is
running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the
speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and
blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the
negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control
Snock sensor location nissan1994
Well the knock sensor is located under the lower intake manifold, between the two cylinder banks in the valley. It's about a 3 hour job for an experienced technician, but I have to ask why you want to replace it. If you have a knock sensor code on any Nissan replacing the knock sensor will not fix it. The knock sensor detects unwanted engine vibrations, such as spark knock. So if you have a knock sensor code first check your spark plugs, are they ok? (if not replace them). Next Quest vans are known for clogging fuel injectors so I'd recommend running a can of sea foam injector cleaner or going to your local shop and having a professional injector cleaner run through your car. If problems still persist after having good plugs and running an injector cleaner through, other things to look for would be intake leaks (vacuum leaks), bad mass airflow sensor or a jumped timing belt, which you will need an experienced Technician to check
1994 quest cigarete lighter
Lighter sockets are held in by a sleeve that is threaded to the socket. You can look at a new socket to get a visual. You would need to gain access to the back side of the socket to remove the sleeve and pull the socket out from the front.
