Trying to locate the freeze plugs on an 06 nissan quest
They are on the engine block. Depending on the engine size, usually 2 or 3 on the side and 2 between engine and transmission right below each head.
If you have a timing belt and you noticed coolant leak from front of engine, it could be coming from the water pump inside the timing belt cover.

Why can't ignition key be removed?
Sounds like the solenoid mounted on the shifter. You have to replace the shifter to replace the solenoid. I would check the resistance of the solenoid. Usually 30 to 40 ohms. check the plug to it(Corrrosion) and the resistance of the wires from the brake switch to the solenoid(5 ohms or less). Those shifters are cheap. Could be the brake switch also. Next time it doesn't work, See if the brake lights come on.

Brake light and battery lights are on in a 2006 nissan quest
This just happened to us. While driving the Brake and Battery light went on. These signs do point to the alternator not charging. Eventually car wouldnt accelerate. What happened is that our alternator belt fell off. 5 hours after being towed belt was changed and we drove off... turn on the a/c and loud squeal! Turn off a/c and its gone. Back at the shop were told the a/c unit seized somewhere causing the alternator belt to snap while we were driving down the highway (Apparently they share a pulley or something.. still gotta look that up as soon as we get back home) Both lights went on because the alternator wasnt charging. Cant turn on a/c for the rest of the trip or were stranded for hours again. Check ur belts, pullies, a/c unit and test alternator.. hope this helps u guys
