Po401 I have checked the egr valve and egr

if you remove the egr valve. and then crank the car, with this valve off.the engine should rev up by it's self. but if the car idle's at normal rpm. range. then the port that is under this valve is stopped up. this port goes back to the throttle body. it get's stopped up with carbon, and it's hard to remove. you take a can of carburator cleaner. and some stiff wire, such as a coat hanger. and you try to snake this coat hanger through this blockage. it's similar to your blood veins .one port from the exhaust system will be open. the other will not. also remove the air duct going to the throttle body. and open the throttle(with engine off) and look up inside of the t body past the butterfly with a good flashlight.the other end of the port is up inside this hole. sometimes you have to keep working the wire through this passage. it may curve around. carb cleaner make's the carbon easier to remove. when this port is open.and you crank up the engine, it should rev up higher by it's self. then replace the egr valve and all other parts you removed. and have code's cleared. then drive car for a few miles. at a slower speed .to see if repair is done

After replacing a camshaft position sensor a p1390 shows up

Cam sensor fires the injectors so ignition control is not really what it does. The crankshaft sensor provides spark control, the Cam sensor provides injector pulse timing.
The actual code no it throws is much more use for us to diagnose...pls specify the Engine light code and I can be much more helpful.
Why did u change the cam sensor for an oil leak? that does not seem to be an appropriate repair.... anyhow more info=better help

I have a 1999 Mitsubishi

There are alot of things that can cause injectors not to pulse. Have you checked simple things such as the MPI fuse on the battery lead? How about the MPI relay under the radio?

Especially if you have messed around back there for any reason its possible it simply became unplugged. Ive seen that more then a few times. Is this your only problem? The injectors are just not pulsing? Or is it missing spark too?

You can also try taking a 9v battery and some alligator clips and see if you hear your injectors "click". I did this with my car and it works wonders. Plus you don't have to take your fuel rail off to swap them out as you know they work.

Hook the positive and negative up to your battery, then take one of the clips and clip it on one of the pins on the injector. Next, take the other one and touch it to the injector and listen for the "click" of the injector opening. Make sure the clips don't come off the 9v battery or the injector.

Keep us updated.

We are unable to find

Without knowing the size engine you have. The best way to find the shrader valve for the A/C is locate the A/C compressor and follow the lines (pipes) coming out of them, there is two of them. If you follow them you will find them, there should be two of them also. One is the high pressure side and the other the low pressure. They will not be together.

1999 mitsubishi eclipse..4 cyclinder (non-turbo)

I agree....I have done the same thing...Some vehicles have portholes with rubber plugs for that type bolt removal...but very few....It should be done to all ft wheel drives...
However first be sure that you have all mounts loose...there my be another lower mount...I have seen up to 4 different type mount brackets on some engines...Also it seems that you have to jack all of them up way too much and very unsafe looking but that is just the way it is..Some times it is a good idea to loosen the trans mounts to give you another couple inches but cutting the hole is a great idea because you will need it for future use.....Start out with a drill pilot hole and use a hole saw bit for your holes...very simple...Hope this helps..........cert.tech..level2....Metalpoet............

My 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Your mechanic can't tell you what happened? Very strange. I would suspect that the engine threw a rod to knock a hole in the block. Your mechanic should at a minimum be able to connect to the PCM and retrieve the freeze frame data to see if your vehicle experienced a fatal drop in oil pressure, etc. Additionally I've never experienced a service contract provider refuse simply outright refuse to pay to have the vehicle fixed myself. I have had vehicles come in where the previous "mechanic" simply didn't have the knowledge to diagnose the issue.

It's hard to say what happened without more information. Detailed information - what were you doing when it happened? How had the vehicle been driven prior to the incident? When was the last oil change?

1998 eclipse the brake lights

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You probably need to change your brake switch. The small button gets stuck after some time. You might be able to mess with the button and fix your issue. The switch is located right above your brake pedal. The pedal hits the button. This is what controls the lights coming on and off.
