Have replaced 2 solenoids near engine, is there a 3rd underneath car?
There is a vent solenoid under the vehicle near the gas tank on the
evaporator canister or
charcoal canister An your replaced one near the engine you didn't need to. Only 1 on or near engine ( purge solenoid )
But there is also the possability the gas cap leaks , the fuel filler neck is rusted somewhere , or one of the hoses as a pin hole . You could replace all the solenoids an still have the code come back. The best way to trouble shoot these type problems is hook up a smoke machine an smoke the system . Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop. I mean unless you like spending money needlessly .

Why does it shut off with 50 psi fuel pressure.
Do you smell fuel? It may be flooding itself to a stall. After the stall the fuel settles back to the tank, plugs are drying and working again and you restart.. Look into the ignition, fuel /air mixture
Why do I smell gas and it's leaking from the exhaust pipe?
If you have raw fuel coming out of the exhaust pipe , you have real issues. There are a couple reasons this can happen.
1. You have a dead cylinder and the fuel is not being burned and is exhausted thru the tailpipe. This is unusual since most of the time if this occurs during operation the catalytic converter is hot enough to burn off the excess fuel.
2. You have a frozen injector and it is leaking into the cylinder after shutdown. Hard to believe this though, as you'd need a good bit of fuel to fill a cylinder to where it could flow out through an open exhaust valve. Usually the fuel would wash down past the piston rings first into the oil pan.
How to reset anti-theft on a 2000 alero
The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

2.2l. What exactly holds the thermostat in the engine block?
If you have an automatic transaxle, remove the exhaust manifold. Next, drain the cooling system. Remove the thermostat housing to water pump.
Remove the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe. Finally, remove the t-stat. Reverse the process to replace.

How to increase idle speed
The engine may be misfiring. I had a 2.4L engine that did that and at long last I discovered that the "Coil Cover Housing" needed to be replaced. This is because the coil cover housing has the spark plug wires molded into the plastic as part of its design. For me this caused an intermittent misfire in one of the cylinders.
Can't find oil sending unit in 2000 alero with a
The oil sending unit on the 2.4l engine is mounted in a hole on top of one of the cam-shaft covers. You may need to remove the spark coil cover, this is the cover at the very top of the engine that says "2.4L" on it and I think it has to two 10mm screws holding it down.
How to remove the brake booster
What you have is a standard, run-of the mill brake booster. First, remove the vacuum booster hose from the check valve. Then remove the two nuts hold the brake master cylinder to the booster. Carefully move the master cylinder to one side. The lines will allow for movement, but be sure not to overstress of break any of them. Now, under the dashboard, find and remove the clip that secures the brake pedal to the booster actuator rod. After that, still under the dashboard, locate the two nuts the hold the booster to the firewall and remove them. The booster will then pull straight out if the firewall. See pictures for relative locations.
