instruction to replace spark plugs & dome lights (temp, distance, etc)

Changing Spark Plugs
First off, on this model you don't have plug wires, you have coil packs with a boot and coil connected to the pack. The boot slides on the tops of the spark plug. The good thing about this is that you don't have to mark each wire to its location.
So to replace the plugs you need to disconnect the electrical connector to the coil pack and then unbolt the two bolts that mount the pack down, then remove the pack.
Next with a ratchet, an extension and a special spark plug socket, which has an insulator inside to protect the porcelain from getting cracked, remove the spark plugs.
Next step is to replace the plug, usually I slide off the boot from the coil pack and then remove the coil from inside the boot and slide the boot over the spark plug and start to thread the plug back in. Using this method allows to you feel if you are threading the plug in right. Then with a torque wrench you would torque the spark plug to the specs for the type of engine you have.
3.2/3.5L Engine (20 ft-lbs)
2.7L Engine (13 ft-lbs)
Next reinstall the coil pack with the two mounting bolts, it is only necessary to hand tigthen the two bolts. Then plug back in the electrical connector and continue this process on the next 5 spark plugs.

Changing Dome Light
To remove the map light bulbs you need to first remove the overhead console.
To do this you need to remove the screw at the front of the overhead console (which is more towards the front windshield).
Next you need to pry down on the rear of the overhead console and then disconnect the electrical connectors.
Then, with the overhead console pulled down, pull of the map light bulbholders and replace the bulbs.
Installation is the reverse of the removal process.

where is the tcm for 2002 dodge intrepid people say behind the driver side headlight but the dealer told me that was the pcm not for the trans.
so what is the truth i know that the tcm i bought is smaller than the one thats behind the headlight but they say is the right one. so where else could it be
I too have a 2002 dodge Intrepid, after 10 minutes of driving the car, when i make a stop it won't shift properly, in order to make it shift, i have to turn the ignition off and back up again!
If anyone can help me locate the TCM that would be great.
I'm ready to drive it off a cliff
Thanks in advance!

Dodge Intrepid 2003 obd 2 code P0441 what is the next test to isolate the malfunction.
Most common problem causing this code is the purge solenoid. A quick smoke test will show if you have any leaks in the system. If no leaks and the fuel cap is installed properly it's the purge solenoid.

error code p 0441
P0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow
OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description
Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow
What does that mean?
This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists of many parts, including (but not limited to) the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system
. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.
EVAP emission canister purge is contolled by a valve which allows engine vacuum to pull stored fuel vapors from fuel tank into the engine to be burned, rather than be vented to atmosphere. A vacuum switch is used to detect when flow exists. If the PCM commands purge and sees that the switch is closed (indicating no detected purge flow) P0441 is set.
Symptoms
Likely, no symptoms will be discernible to the driver, other than the illuminated Check Engine Light.
Causes
A code P0441 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
Possible Solutions
With a P0441 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:

yesterday was at a red light, no more than 30 seconds, turned green hit the gas to go, in that split second i heard a pop & the car turned off, not stalled, but turned off. i did panick, i was in the middle an intersection when the car turned off with my 2 & 1/2 yr. old grandson in the back. i turned the key, thank god the car started again, enough for me to veer it to the side of the road. i waited a few minutes, tried again it started i hauled **** home!!!!!, safely though. took it to advance auto parts they ran a check & this error code i'm asking about is what came up, P0344. i was told it's the camshaft. back in december i kept getting the error code of 0441- which i kept getting asked & told if i had just fueled up & if so it should go away, if not then i needed to replace the gas cap. so i replaced the gas cap, got tired of hearing did you just fuel up? or did you replace the cap on properly? in any case i took the car to the dealer to get service cause finally the error code said evap canister. so i guess where i'm going with this is, is there a possibility that that had something to do with it some how or am i just fishing here? please help.
thank you, carmen
po344 is camshaft position sensor, try changing the sensor and the problem may go away.

how does the timing chain tensioner work for a 2003 dodge intrepid w/2.7 litre engine
On both sides of the chain, right above the crankshaft, there are two guides. The chain runs over these guides, the tenion is adjusted by moving one of the guides in more to press on the chain tighter.

I am getting OBD code P0700. That is all what my scanner reads. What kind of scanner is needed to get more info from TCM?
Really that is all you need unless you want to spend $200 on a better scanner. Post that code on line and you will get the problem and fix suggestions. Or purchase a repair manual (Haynes) which has the codes and sensors listed but leaves the repair solutions to you. Remember that a code can be caused by more than just a bad sensor so be careful.

car was running rignt on interstate, check engine light came on and shortly after, car down shifted and wouldn't get back into drive. Stopped at a NAPA store, got the codes, guy cleared them and car began running right again. NAPA guy suggested that all codes didn't fail at once and probably was some electronic problem that triggered all the codes. Looking for explanation before someone over-charges me for things I don't really need in my transmission.
The P0700 means Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
The P0760 means Shift Solenoid "C"
The P0871 means Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "C" Circuit Range/Performance.
