If you dont have heat you definitely need to check your coolant level first. Better make sure to use the right coolant alot of BMWs take G-5 coolant. Then see if you can see water running out of the engine compartment onto the ground after you fill it. The water pump could be leaking. Check the radiator for leaks and make sure your hoses are not leaking if the floor inside has coolant seeping into the carpet your heater core could be leaking. If the water is not leaking you could have a bad fan clutch or a bad resistor on the fan motor or a burned out electric cooling fan. Or something wrong with the circuit for the coolant fan.

nvm i think i found em; if its a circle with 3 little sections on each side, it means have the brake pads checked
Where is the battery located
The battery is located in the trunk on the right side (passanger side) under a plastic black cover that just pops off
Do you need any special tools to replace the
no. you only need the 15mm/16mm spanner to turn the tensioner handle until you see a hole to lock the handle with a small allen key or something fit inside. (CAUTION: be carefull of the handle will slam backward and broke the stopper. dont release in suddent. ) check your alternator run freely. turn with your hand with the belt off.
How to setup the timing chain for BMW
The sadder thing is you have a 740. align both cam pulley per the book or where you marked them before you took the chain off. They're marked in relation to top dead center of the #1 cylinder and crankshaft.
Didn't do that beforehand.......uh oh. Tow it to dealer, bring one wheelbarrow full of fresh cash. Drive away in about 6 hours.
I have a problem with my bmw its e32 740i m60, we
if you dont see any timing marks.remove the valve cover and spark plugs,on the number one piston, insert a thin stick until you feel the stik is bumping in to the piston.then slowly rotate the main pulley untill your stik reaches the top.thats top dead center.next, the camshaft, rotate thee camshaft till the cam lobes of the number four intake and exaust rockerarm reaches on top.now check the timing marks.
Why is my 1992 325i bmw overheating
Most BMWs with the M-50/52 series engines(this is the one with all the black covers, 24 valve type) overheat for one of a few reasons. Most common, the coolant leaked out, and now the car can't circulate coolant to cool itsself off. Second, air may have gotten into the system and you are experiencing what is called airlock. This is where the water pump has air in it, and can't push water. You fix this by running it for a bit to make it warm up and pressurize, and bleed the air out using the bleed screw on the radiator; it's right on top. Next problem you can run into, is the water pump may have gone bad. BMW make the bright decision to put plastic impellers on their water pumps, which would break, and not pump water. If this is so on your car, order one that you KNOW is metal, and get the problem out of the way. Make sure that you have the air out of the system before you try to drive it anywhere, or it'll overheat anyways. Finally, and least likely, is the head gasket. Usually these engine will fling oil all over the inside of the engine compartment before they will overheat due to a head gasket. Hopefully this helped you out, and if you have any additional questions, comment on it, as I check back to make sure they're solved.
Where is the idle screw
Look at where the throttle cables attach to the throttle plate. ON the bottom side of the throttle plate there is a screws that it rest on when in closed position. You turn it clockwise to increase throttle and counter-clockwise to decrease.
Cant switch the gears clutch goes all the way to
since these are a hydraulic system, the level in the master cylinder needs to be checked. If it is empty, use dot 3 brake fluid to refill. Once it begins to work(you will need to pump it to regain the pedal)the 2 components need to be inspected for leaks and rebuilt or replaced as is necessary. If not, this will happen again. You have 2 components; the cltch master cylinder and the slave cylinder. The master is under the hood and the slave is at the side of the transmission. Pull the boot back on the slave cylinder and if fluid leaks out, rebuild or replace.
Hi got a bmw 325i n reg wont start but it will
Good that the general electrical systems are reporting no faults but the issue sounds more fundamental. The battery probably shows 12v but if it is sick (its internal resistance will be high) it will carry low current. The starter motor demands very large current. Without the aid of the jump does the car turn over in a healthy way? If not, then go to basics and have the battery checked over, most of the 'Kwikfit' type depots and Halfords will have facilities to do this
