2007 Nissan 350Z - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Does it match?
There are very few cars that match up in comparison. The closest would be the
Mazda RX-8 or the Chevrolet Corvette, but the RX-8 has been plagued by
reliability problems and isn't as powerful. The Corvette costs more and is
actually a slightly different animal. That leaves the 350Z to dominate the
affordable sports car niche market.
First Service on my Z
service runs every 3,750 miles
If you look in the owners manual there should be a separate service maintenance booklet explaining all the things that get done in each of the services.
If I recall, only the 15K intervals are any REAL services other than just an oil change and a few inspections.
You should change the oil AT A MINIMUM of 2X per year (ie: every 6 months)
My PERSONAL opinion is that synthetic oil can be run and changed at 5 to 6K intervals. This is what I have done in my former BMW, my current LEXUS IS 250, and my NEW Z.
Once the Z is broken in (approx 1,200 to 1,500) you can consider changing the oil and start running synthetic.
Hope this helps and enjoy the Z
Turn key wont crank
Possible issues: too many to list
Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key to "START"? If so, I'd say your battery is dead.
Do any of your gauge lights, head lights, radio, etc. work just fine? If so, I'd guess you have a bad ignition, bad coil, or bad starter.
Likely issues:
Dead battery
Bad coil
Bad ignition switch
Bad starter
My car won't won't start
Here are a few ideas to check out: is your key fob working? If not, it could be the battery in your key. Unfortunately, after you put in a new tiny battery, it will have to be reprogramed. Could your car battery have worn itself down from frequent alarms?
Fuse box layout
Could be a parasitic drain like the underhood light, trunk light, floor light, map light, etc. not turning off correctly, something left plugged in the cigarette lighter port, or just a very weak battery that is due to be replaced, or heavy corrosion on battery terminals, very dirty battery top causing cross voltage drain. Few things to check there.
Problem with headlamp switch on 1992 R32 skyline
some nissans have points in the switch that get moisture in them causing the points not to make contact. You would have to take the switch apart and clean the points with sand paper,if you are not mechanically inclined let a tech do this or change the switch
