If I drive my 2007 beetle at or above 2500rpm for 10 minutes or more, and then slow down, I get smoke out of the exhaust - but only in the low gears (1,2,3) and only for a few days.

the symptom indicates failed valve stem seals by deceleration , there is a vacuum created in the cylinders and that is sucking oil past the valve stems the low gears is the highest vacuum creation as the engine is running at high rpms and when the throttle is closed the vacuum can go as high as 25" mercury in the manifold and cylinders oil can also be drawn up past the oil control rings the indications are that the motor is a bit worn but I am staying with failing valve stem seals or worn valve guides a knocking sound on deceleration is worrying as it could be first signs of bearings or gudgeon pin problems have a full wet/dry compression test done on the engine to determine condition also have a mechanical oil pressure test done to determine oil pressure in operation conditions

Gmc Envoy with erratic fuel gauge.

I have found that just about 100% of the time this condition is caused by a defective fuel gauge sending unit in the gas tank.

Passenger raer marker light is out

The rear light assembly is one unit that slides into the rear fender housing. If you pull back the carpet on the rear quarter panel you will see a piece of the sliding lock that holds the light unit in place. The lock has a tang sticking out of the housing. Pressing down on this will cause the lock to start to release and the light unit will slide out about a 1/4 of an inch. Gently pull out on the light while continuing to press sown on the lock tang until the unit slides out. Replace the blown bulb. Install is reverse of removal. Warning: The tang on the lock is plastic as is the lock itself and can be easily broken. Also, installing the light unit can be tricky to get lined up correctly. My advise is to spay the inside of the housing with silicone spray liberally before reinstalling the light unit. The lubrication usually helps the sliding lock operate correctly and lessens the chance of breakage.

How do you change driver

The headlight assembly must be removed from the vehicle in order to gain access to the bulb fixture. Open the hood and look at the headlight from the inside - you'll see a couple of plastic wingnuts that hold the assembly in. Remove wingnuts and slide assembly out. Turn plastic retainer ring on bulb to release bulb, remove and replace. Reverse procedure. Make sure you align bulb correctly for retainer to lock down or else bulb may fall out while driving.
Good luck!!
