How does my engine brake work?
Engine brakes or Jacobs brake on diesel engines work by using engine oil pressure controlled by a electric solenoid in three stages, the oil pressure is directed to a piston which holds down an exhaust valve slightly approx 2.85-3.5mm.
The three stages of exhaust brake on a six cilinder engine activates two cylinders at a time, cylinders 1-2 stage one, cylinders 1-2-3-4 stage two, and 1-2-3-4-5-6 stage three.
A Volvo engine brass or VEB works kind of the same only it uses a separate lobe on the camshaft to open the valve for engine braking...
Hope this helps..
Radio losing memory power..
all fuse boxes? (its in in USA, we dont have those in 2013)
chapter 11 here and canada in 2012. (so no books here)
in general:
this is easy, the radio and many things have a power feed that is what i call the memory wire, if the fuse is bad. then the PCM , TCM and radio forget. (and clocks)
fuses that look good can in fact be bad, (hair line cracks happen)
we use a voltmeter keyon to test fuses (rubber meets road style)
live.
in fact the new car is shipped with the fuse pulled to save battery.
is the warranty ended? if not why not get them to fix it.
need a video seeing a master ASE do fuse the correct way/?

ABS + ESP lights staying on dashboard
wow no year car, now that is a challenge , no?
abs is first.
first- first are brakes.
abs stuck on key on and running full time right?
so check brakes for damage or worn out.
brake fluid level not falling? look yet? look when checking oil every time.
abs can not work on cars with bad brakes, (its not god like)
then check for ABS sensor damage and its wires. under car.
then scan the ABS. got errors, sure you do.
but what? you didnt scan it first.
or read the manual> RTM?

Grand vitara 1.9 f9q engine, where is the coolant temp sensor
Sorry don't know exactly but it is generally to be found in the hottest part of the engine - just below the thermostat in the housing or close by in the cylinder head, sometimes in the intake manifold if it is coolant heated and very occasionally elsewhere in the cylinder head...
