I would like to remove battery cables without losing data. is this possible?

The only way I know you could do it is to hook some jumper cables from your cables to another battery while you unhook them till there re hooked. Just be very careful not to arc them together and or set them on something metal, that would let them arc. If you do let them arc together you could fry something.

My key will not come out of the driver side door lock. It will turn and move but appears to come up against a

I recommend spraying a penetrating oil (WD40) into the lock and GENTLY working the key in and out of the cylinder. You may also want to try warming the lock with a hair dryer or heat gun (being careful not to damage the paint. I have also heard of ppl using a lighter to heat up the key but because lighters explode, and get hot enough to melt things, I don't recommend it. If possible, park in a heated garage over night. Although I can't be sure that the lock cyl. Is frozen, that's certainly what it sounds like. The penetrating oil will displace water. Keep in mind that the key will be covered in oil after use for a while. To prevent this in the future, use a graphite designed for locks to keep it dry and moving for the future (again, watch for graphite on the key for a while after each use)Please let me know how you make out! Thanks and good luck!

How do you remove the battery cables from the

Hello, they are no different from any top post battery clamp. Simply loosen the clamps by turning the clamp nut counter clockwise. Then take a pair of channel locks or pliers and twist the clamp back & forth to free it up. They will lift straight up. Attached is an image to help you. A 5/16 or 10mm wrench will fit the clamp nut. I hope this helps.

Sounds like a dead battery, the fact that you were able to drive it all the way home after being jump started means that your alternator is working fine, but as soon as you turned it off there is no way to restart it since the battery is bad. Take out the battery and go have it tested at your local auto parts store to be sure, but that is most likely the cause.

LINCOLN MKX 2008 ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON THEN OFF

So many parameters are monitored by the engine light and its system.
From O2 sensors to a misfire to even a gas cap not on correctly.

One cannot troubleshoot if the light if it comes on and back off intermittently.
Once it comes on and stays on can it be checked.

But, just a hunch...try putting in a tank of high test gasoline that has NO alcohol in it.

Check Engine lights are notorious for coming on due to alcohol being burned and that fuels ineffeciency.

Hope this helped...
