Frost forming on top/front panel in freezer side subzero 632

In your freezer section there are 2 door switches -- press each one. One turns off the light. The other turns ON the freezer evaporator fan. If the freezer compressor is running the evap fan should RUN when the switch is depressed. If not, the fan motor is defective OR the switch is defective. Easy to troubleshoot the switch - just pry it out with a screwdriver, short the terminals with a piece of insulated wire. If the fan runs, it's OK and the problem is the switch. If it's the fan, it's not hard to replace. Get replacement motor, turn freezer control to off, remove food and shelves, then the back sheet metal panel. Fan is right behind the panel.

Ignore the fan operation... That is perfect. You are likely experiencing a DEFROST failure (most commonly a defrost timer failure)... part number 3081180 item 69 on your exploded top view (top right side as viewed from the front). There are typically only three (3) elements to a DEFROST circuit: - Defrost Timer (as noted above) - Heater element to WARM the EVAPORATOR - DEFROST thermostat... inhibit excess heat (closed circuit at freezing - Opens at room temperature) Check your defrost pan... there should be water there DAILY... IF not: you are assured that your DEFROST fails. Per YOUR DESCRIPTION... You need to look for a SUDDEN REASON (huge air leak) why FROST would form so quickly... USUALLY a big pizza box... BUT ANYTHING blocking a TIGHT DOOR SEAL will cause massive frosting. It is taking moisture from the WARM ROOM AIR and blocking your evaporator... Yes ... all INTERIOR panels must be in place for the refrigerator to function properly. guaranteedparts.com http://www.guaranteedparts.com/picture_library/Subzero/Subzero-500%20Series/590.pdf Sears http://www.searspartsdirect.com/refrigerator-repair/symptom/REF0003.html Carnac the Magnificent

Ice maker not making ice - repair costs?

If you have a warranty with Sub-Zero 650, I would call them to come and take a look at it; it may be better to have them fix it.

It sounds like either an airflow issue, like dirty or restricted coils, or a fan not working well. Or it may be low on charge.
