I am very sorry to hear that news, just dreadful :>( I was trying to find out who actually makes this watch, but there is no data. Normally you send to the maker and they repair it. My late wife bought me a Seiko, and although I live in Canada, I send it to the UK where it was purchased and where the service centre is for servicing. you could ask Nike who was contracted to produce it? My guess is Casio, because it has the Casio look to it. One thought I have is that the battery that was put in it was the wrong type or it was inadvertently replaced with a battery out of another watch that came in for repair. I would have another battery put in it and see what happens. You need to check where the sound are coming from and then once you ave discovered the area then you need to assess the seriousness of the situation. if it is just the sole or because something is lodged in there then you can try to fix the problem yourself. If you feel you are unqualified to do so then you can take the shoe to a shoemaker, or better yet send Nike an email stating that you are unhappy with the service that you've received and that they should ensure that they see to the problem or else you will make a noise about it. Remember, as a consumer today you have more rights and brands need to protect their image or else it could be detrimental to them too.

Try contacting Nike or a good watch retailer for the replacement band. Sadly, we do not supply parts we just give advice for repairs.

There are sometimes hidden dangers in replacing batteries which is probably why most makers recommend professionals to do the job.

You seem to have had some success but it sounds as if there is an intermittant contact with the battery. If you feel that you can remove the back again, try removing the battery, cleaning it with surgical spirit (to remove any grease that is naturally on fingers) and replace it.

As an engineer, I would expect that a screw on back should go on easily until it reaches the end of travel, when it will tighten. If it is stiff all the way, they you may have crossed the thread and damaged it. Never apply a large force at the start of screing the back on, as the threads are quite fine and may be easily damaged.

If after trying again, you still have the problem, then go to a watch repairer and discuss what you have done and the problem you are having.
