My computer won't boot up. It keeps getting error

Did you try starting the computer in Safe mode? When you press the start button press F8 or F1 before the operating system starts it will ask you if you want to start the computer in safe mode choose that and see if it starts. If it starts run msconfig and try to repair windows in safe mode. If that fails take it to a computer store and they will repair the windows operating system. Good luck.

This error came when trying to get my cd to work

"HP G61-631NR Notebook PC" windows vista or windows 7/?no operating system stated by you. a key fact for getting accurate help. Internal CD drive or external?NO CD disk stated, what is it exactly, of millions possible. 100s of formats and media, exist.first off many things can cause the unstated CD disk to fail. vast things. No CD drive model stated either of 1000s made.why not get the PC fixed,in a shop, so they can see in seconds what you cant? we sure cant see what you have there ,ever. The CD has the wrong format.the CD has files you PC can not read.(mostly movie formats or mP3 music.) I'd need to know what content you have on unstated CD, what is it file there? If store bought music discs, say so it's CD-DA format that...and all PC's can read them (in fact an acid test)1: the CD is no good, scratched,2: wrong CD, some CDs do not work in very old CD drives, like CD-RW, CD-R, disk , called home made disk.do not work here.3: the old CD drive is dead now, or dirty optics inside.4: the XP or VISTA OS are dead OS, and microsoft shut down the DRIVER servers making all this FAIL.XP needs SP3 service pack to run CD drives some.Vista SP3, same reason.5: the PC is virus infected and can't do much right.6: the PC drivers were erased by someone doing bad things on PC. (vast)7: one thing bad is using MS disks to install your OS,and not HP. leaving drivers missing. and a dead CD. drive.OS = operating systemMS = microsoft company and windows, if using windows.at all.

None of my usb ports work on my hp pavilion

Try visiting HP's support site for latest drivers for your supported model? Also, right click "my computer" and select manage. From there, select Device Manager and look for any Unknown Device/Driver (yellow icon with ! mark). You might be missing/needing an updated driver for the computer to use the USB ports. Windows updates won't necessarily include the model/make specific driver. Note: please be more specific with HP model as there are several 4051 (entertainment model), along with version of Windows (7 (32bit or 64bit). Look for latest BIOS and update that, along with any chipset and storage drivers that might be applicable to your model. Welcome to HP Customer Support

None of my usb ports

dv7-4051 good clean full model # nice but no OS stated, we can not GUESS THE OS NO USB DEVICE STATED , at least say one of them.? USB is ENDLESS topic, 1000's of devices made from 16 long years. is it windows XP, the dead now, virus magnet? it amazes me the vast posts where for windows. there are 14 version of windows, back to day 1. hell some even run FREEDOS , heck HP even ships them new like that. (free of MS invasions of privacy this, popular in EU regions.) lucky you HP still has some support in this LT some came with windows 7 32bit. in USA. here is the page on my guess at OS. w7 https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv7-4000-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/4149935/model/4230565 see that, see all those DRIVERS> one is for USB (most times this is the base chips sets) but if w7 is true, is it, (or higher do this.) the MS way to fix this is far more easy if system is not corrupted or infected this works if not F11 restore it. be connected to the internet first CP control panel go there. click device manager, see bad devices(red or yellow marks) we fix those first. same way. this magic is called PnP plug and pray.(pun) plug in any usb device, a keyboard or mouse tops my choice or usb flash memory stick 2nd if the keyboard, works on USB< great if not do this. yes plug in any USB keyboard made or wired mouse to USB jacks pick one. lets call it USB UNder test, UUT you then see USB devices in the Device manager. you must stop uninstalling things, diagnosis is first. not guessing at random. sorry. photos RUN CP + DM (path of clicks) #1 see this, see its not missing see its not red marked or yellow bad. if its there, plugged in right click those and click update (magic pnp) ether the usb keyboard or mouse or both. forget internal LT keyboard. top-5pwpc4yvku1dej4b3igosgxq-3-0.jpg photo 2 this is really first. this is the USB chip hub inside your PC all PC have this, and again, must not be missing or red /yellow marked as bad. see this, same trick, right click them and update it. online only w7 and newer work now, MS shut down XP and VISTA. This is DM. window. (mines W10) see my CELL phone there.? bottom-5pwpc4yvku1dej4b3igosgxq-3-1.jpg recap: USB fails for these reasons, (chips USB not blown up)
  1. OS corrupted ,
  2. viruses
  3. loading wrong drivers not from HP or MS to your PC.
  4. using devices so old W7 does not know about.(obsolete things)
  5. using new USB devices MS/nor HP supports so go to makers home page and it that there, for example USB headphone MS does not support, next time name something?
eg> examples my USB flat bed scanner is now dead, due to no more driver support by any one on earth my head phones all USB fail. unless i get them from the makers. Best is to try any keyboard /mouse wired, and do that test first this is called walking before the big run.... do the easy first then we do the hard last. nothing is more complex than USB support, (expected) more, printers dead (very old ones) so next time tell one thing that fails, or all things. and WIN. by name and maker and model devices.

I am having a problem

NO OS stated. what operating system windows, came with W7 new, you skipped the free w10 upgrade? btw i see your PS is infected (for sure) who's update notices, Microsoft or the other millions of APPS. if not MS, then do not allow those to run ever, if you do , and you have 100s of apps, you land in Apps update H3LL avoid all that. (go to msconfig and turn all those startup update engines off, click disable.) if badly infected, as most are this old. what you should do is this.
  1. hit F11 at power on boot, and get the recovery system going.
  2. or go to HP.com and get the recovery media, kit.
we use the kit , to cure any HP PC that has or had a bad HDD or had a virus that wrecked the HP recovery partitions. this is the only legit fresh load. for this to work the HDD must be good, and the LT PC not bad. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143 1: hit start button 2: in RUN box type CMD 3: 1second, see cmd.exe show up above. 4: right click run as admin, it does in this so called DOS box type (its the commandline human interface box) type msconfig see now msconfig. applet run click startup tab bingo? disable all the useless stuff there. I only allow the AV and malware engines here, to run. nothing else. including MS defender on mine, and more,' malwarebytes. and rootkit blockers and what not. tell more get more.....

Laptop randomly overheats/shuts down.

avoid geeks, try real shops , they are NOT. it is overheating and all PCs every made do that, if not serviced ever heard of service? like a car, like oil filters and air cleaner. same here but no filters we clean the vents, and all air paths clean. never use it on a a blanket blocking vents the go to geeks and it works. ok. load program that reports, CPU/GPU heat. see it overheat sure, over 50c is too hot. and needs service or off that blanket. i cant watch you use your LT, so.... only you know what you do. use a desk, or better buy a bottom plate with fans added. I have a fan plate platform that i use on my hotter running I7 LT's if the CPU overheats the CPU will shut itself down , by its self Intel or AMD magic, does that. the BIOS will see it overheat and crank up fan speeds. if the venting system is blocked, there is no HOPE NOW. all PCs must breath, or they overheat, all do.

Iced tea spilled on HP laptop, will not power on, please help?

Salvage the data from the drives and have them copied to your new laptop. At the very least you probably fried your motherboard & damaged your keyboard. To repair them is probably more costly than purchasing a new laptop(voice of experience). The drives may or may not work. Your main concern is the data. You can purchase a hard drive power adapter from ebay to power the removed laptop drive(s) and connect to a new computer via USB port to copy all of your files for about $25 and a little bit of time. Or have a computer shop do it for a fee.

Why can i open any of my icons on my laptop all my icons says ie

I would right-click & delete each icon and get Windows 7 build a new copy, You will need to delete the IconCache.db file and restart your computer in order to allow Windows to create a new one. To rebuild your icon cache:
  1. Close all programs
  2. Click Start, then type CMD into the Search programs and files window.
  3. Right click on the CMD program that is displayed above and select Run as administrator.
  4. Navigate to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local. This can be accomplished with the command:CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local <enter>
  5. Delete the IconCache.db file that resides there. e.g. DEL IconCache.db /ah<enter>
  6. Close this command window and restart the computer.
If your icons do no immediately return after the restart, simply restart it agin. I've never had to restart more than once myself, but I've heard of others having to restart two or three times. This is most likely due to having programs and/or Explorer processes running before the first restart, e.g. not following step 1.

Hp pavilion g71150us number keys do not work

It is time to replace your keyboard. It is dying. You can buy the replacement keyboard at eBay.com (use your laptop's model number to search the compatible keyboard). Later, you can download the laptop's service manual and read it, so you can replace the keyboard by yourself.
