Just make em tight and dont strip em! Usally parts like this, that are not related to some real mechanical aspect of the vehicle dont have torque specs Motorcycles tend to give more torque specs than automobiles but, since this thing just hold some guages and what not, it just needs to stay on there. I don't have a Harley but, I've had dirt bikes all my life, and I have a honda xrl650 which I ride on the street now and the torque specs on the suspension and wheel components are the most important, to me anyway. I had same problem, found the Positive cable from battery has parted inside the plastic cover. the cable was broken, but was making and then breaking with the movement of the bike. the bike would run then stop, then would restart later, when running, the engine would sometime spit. replaced the cable with a longer cable , (it was at the starter end of cable that parted) bike working good now. Lack of clutch plate pressure or worn plates will cause that. Purchase the parts you have said are damaged/worn a set of plates and springs then rebuild it and happy biking for a few more years. Follow the procedures as laid down in the workshop manual.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to correct category. The VRod has an immobilizer. When you disconnect the battery, its memory is lost. Number 1 tip, if you remove the battery, keep power in the system with a battery charger, a battery maintainer, or even a 9 volt MN150 will hold power for 20 minutes. Apparently not. All Bluetooth radios have the logo on the front. Sometimes you can get bluetooth dongles that plug in the back. This is the most likely culprit, SENSOR, barometric pressure (MAP), the sensor is located in top of intake manifold.

Gaslight staying on is due to faulty fuelguage. I suggest you clean tank, check Guage, check tap, piping etc.
