How can I increase the mic out signal from the DC-R302 from -50 to -30 or higher?

Try feeding the Mic Out to a mic preamp, such as an RDL RU-MLA2.

Fostex Fostex Dc-R302 powers on while holding power on switch but goes off as soon as switch released.

It is possible that the problem with your Fostex DC-R302 is related to the battery, especially if it was low. Replacing the battery on the board might help solve the issue. However, if this does not work, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional repair service to diagnose and fix the problem. The reset switches on the top of the unit may be used to restore the device to its default settings, but it is unclear if they will solve the power issue.

Active speaker Fostex pm0.4n, normal audio but with intermittent crackling sound, then after a minute or two the fuse blew

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues with your Fostex pm0.4n speaker. Crackling sounds and blown fuses can be caused by a variety of issues. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the connection between your speaker and the audio source. Make sure the cables are securely plugged in and that the connections are clean and free of any debris.
  2. Check the volume level. If the volume is turned up too high, it can cause the speaker to distort or produce crackling sounds.
  3. Inspect the speaker for any visible damage. If you notice any damage to the speaker or the power cord, it could be causing the issue.
  4. Check the fuse. The fuse may have blown due to an issue with the speaker or the power supply. Replace the fuse with one of the same rating to see if that resolves the issue.
If these troubleshooting steps don't fix the problem, it's possible that there is a more serious issue with the speaker that will require professional repair.

MR-8. How can I hard reset?

Generally, a hard reset is initiated by pressing a dedicated reset button, or holding a combination of buttons on some mobile devices. Devices may not have a dedicated Reset button, but have the user hold the power button to cut power, which the user can then turn the computer back on.

Fostex mr 16 digital multitracker, Power button has pushed bin and can not turn recorder on

First, check the fuse. You may need a magnifying glass or an ohmmeter to check it. If the fuse is bad, replace it. If the fuse is OK,or you've replaced it, I'd suggest you take it to a pro audio service center for repair. This sounds like either a major power supply problem, or a shorted component, anywhere in the unit. It may not be cheap, but get a repair estimate so you can decide if it is worth repairing.

Hi, I own a Fostex VM04 digital mixer.Everything works fine except for some reason the FX just won't work anymore.Any help to fix this would be appreciated.

If you've set it up correctly and FX still don't work, unless you want to keep using it as-is, I'd suggest looking for a used replacement on Ebay etc. They sell for under $70, and although I doubt these can be repaired, it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

My Fostex mr8 hdd "full"

If you can reformat the drive after dumping out anything you want saved MIGHT fix the problem...

The unit MAY not be able to tolerate fragmenting when you delete a snippet here and there... It may require large blocks of contiguous space.

Fostex vf 160ex odd things happening

Jen / Gently, I know you asked your question a long while ago, but I've got a solution. I had been having the same problem with mine for a while but I found an easy fix which worked for me. The outputs were acting weird, sometimes only the left channel would play, sometimes only the right, sometimes nothing. So I took mine apart, looking for a short. I couldn't find anything, so I tried my backup plan - spraying a can of computer duster (compressed air) around every nook and crany. I guess some grime inside was causing the short. Works as good as new now. I'd say first try spraying the duster with the case on, and see if that works, but you might have to take the case off. It's easy to remove.

If you do have to remove the case, here's some tips. Make sure you've had it unplugged for AT LEAST a minute before you go at it to make sure any residual charge is gone. You have to first remove the two black plastic side pieces, then the little metal piece by the cd tray. Then a bunch of screws on the sides, bottom-front, and back top. The wires aren't real long so you kind of have to fold it open. Just hold it open with one hand and carefully spray the duster around everywhere. Ussually duster will come with an extention straw and I recommend using it so the can's nozel doesn't get real close to the electronics (it can get kinda cold sometimes).

Well, I hope this helps you out.

I have a Fostex PM-2 MKII studio monitor which will not turn on. Could it be a blown fuse? How can I determine the root cause?

Normal It should have fuses inside and if there is a primair problem in the power supply the fuse can blow out , To measure are 2 things in priority the fuses can be normal fuses, glass fuses, or print fuses, but there are also could be used fuse resistors in the secundary line of the amplifier almost always or a little higher placed resistors on the circuitboard or verticalli mounted (most) that are like fuse resistors. something aberrant sometimes mounted with porcelain beads or tubes to the feet But capacitors can sometimes be the cause of problems by a humming sound if secundary but in power supply the from the rectifier and more can be become defect by a to high dc voltage or some output stage transistors can be shorted because of an clipping over 80% used volume then if it was then also the crossover in the box must be measured (inspected to) by most burned overheat components.

How can i get the rear panel off my Fostex monitor speaker. I have removed all 10 outer screws from the back panel, but still rock solid and can't remove. Any ideas on how I can get in to it please.

if any of the front speakers can be removed from the outside of the cabinet, you may be able to push the cabinet back off by going in the front.
