My guess is the MAC's own built-in microphone and/or speakers were on at the time. Maybe next time run a quick sound check.

Hi.
Go to Mac audio settings, select and set the input device and the mixer to the same device (your mic),
Set the Mixer/Mux/Lin, line must be set to the be microphone. Ensure that line volume is up.
Check if direct sound is selected in Mac settings, in some case you need to uncheck it.
Let me know in case that does not fix the problem, I will have a look to see if there is any issue that can be related to the Snownball.

Do you mean you're hearing reverb (echo) of recording? If your recording music or vocals make sure playback speakers are off when doing so. If you leave them on, you're recording multiple times IE: ECHO
There is a 2 second delay with my snowball. I am
The delay isn't the mic, it's the mixer or how you're routing signal that's causing delay. If you're using a stander mixer use 2 separate "aux.'s" one for your vocalist and 1 for yourself. OR i aux for your vocalist and you listen to final output (stereo mix)
I have the same problem as Novaya on Dec 24.
I'm not totally sure about the Snowball mike, but I would hazard a guess that there were some drivers that may have been on a disk that came with it. Just a guess, though. If that is the case I would
unload the driver, which may have been corrupted and then do a re-install and reboot.
You may have contacted a malicious piece of software that has corrupted your ports. In that case,
Run a virus check. Hope some of this may have helped. Best,

I had the same problem with my PC and went to
http://www.asio4all.com/ where I downloaded and installed the driver and it worked!! I found the site by reading this FAQ (see below) at Blue under Snowball.
(But I still have the same problem with my MAC)."If you should experience any problems getting the program to recognize the
mic, Adobe recommends the following: If the device does not allow you to record,
then your microphone is not being detected as a valid input device in Premiere
Elements. You can use an open source program called ASIO4ALL, which is a device
driver that essentially wraps existing WDM devices, like USB microphones, as
ASIO-compatible sound devices. Use the following steps to utilize this tool:
- Quit Premiere Elements.
- Visit the following web page and download the latest available version of
ASIO4ALL: http://www.asio4all.com/
- Install the software, and restart the system if asked to do so by the
installer.
- Make certain that your microphone is plugged in.
- Launch Premiere Elements. Go to the 'Edit->Preferences..>Audio
Hardware' menu option. For the Default Device, choose the ASIO4ALL option. Click
the ASIO Settings button, then select your microphone from the list of devices,
click Exit, and then click OK on the Preferences dialog. Close and then restart
Premiere Elements."
I got a blue snowball microphone and had 2
Thanks for purchasing the Snowball! The problem doesn't look directly related to the mic (as it's purely USB) and monitoring is dependent on the capabilities of the recording software being used. For direct monitoring, we recommend GarageBand and Audacity.

If it is not a dodgy XLR cable and you have tried a different mic pre then it sounds like a component or joint in the mic..Only an expert in that field of audio should mess with opening up the mic...
