my villager surges a little when going down the raod clean MAF sensor with spray carb cleaner several times. go here for more help. Could be TPS sensor too. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/villagerquest

what is a dropping resister or tps sensor? The tps is a throttle position sensor mounted on the throttle body.  It measures the position of the throttle for the computer.

How I find the TPS in my Mercury Villager 2000 All TPS Sensors are on the Throttle Body, usually T-20 Torx Bit to remove All sensors have to be tested or your just replacing a good part for no reason
