The batteries are not a year old. They are sealed batteries, therefore I do not know what you are talking about.

If your battery is a year old should replace it a new one, When battery reach in a year the ampere rate is getting weak. And to prevent that you should always check the battery water level if your battery is a maintenance type. Feel free to send feed back best regards.

Sir try to check the battery using a tester, select the dc voltage and check the dc output of your battery, put the red testing rod to positive of the battery and black to the negative, then try to accelerate your scooter and observe the tester dc output if going down but be sure the wheel of your scooter is not touching the ground. To be sure that your battery is still in right ampere rating. Good day sir and best regards i hope that this may help.

Is it best to keep my scooter on charge all the time or what

Keep your scooter on charge doesn't sound right. Usually, eScooters take 3-4 hours for charging and many chargers have a red while charging. These chargers turn the green light on when they completed the charging. Here, you can also read more tips about the take care of your e-scooter or e-bike https://www.insurance4ebikes.co.uk/looking-after-your-e-bike/. However, according to auto experts battery should be full all the time.

Have got 4 year old traveller plus both lights on the charger do not come on when plugged in

The 17 amp hour batteries on this scooter rarely last more than 1.5 years. If the batteries are 4 years old, find some replacements on-line. With a long phillips screwdriver it is easy to open the battery box and replace the 2 batteries yourself. You should check the 2 fuses to make sure they are not burnt open and are making good contact. Hope this helps

The scooter charges and shows full charge when started. Scooter will not drive uphill - certainly seems to lack torque - when driving up hill battery indicator drops to red

Either the hill is too steep of a grade/incline, the weight of the rider is more than the scooter is designed to carry, or the battery does not have enough power. If the batteries are old or have not been maintained properly, they may not be getting a deep solid charge that is needed to operate on hilly terrain. This is indicated when the batteries show a full charge, and then drop off quickly after a short period of use. Make sure that you are not exceeding the recommended weight limit for the scooter and that your batteries are less than 2 years old. Inclines of more than 5-6 degrees are typically not recommended for safe operation.
I hope this information is helpful to you, good luck!

I just bought a new battery charger cable called (Sealed Lead-Acid Charger) to replace an older (Lead Acid battery charger). The New Battery charger will charge for about 2 to 5 minutes and then stop...

ismail the charger you bought should do the job. By stop charging do you mean the light on the charger turns from yellow to green? Your scooter has small batteries 12/12 and don't require along period of charging. Now the scooter has a heat sensor for the batteries and will cut off charging when temp of the batteries gets too high. The older charger could have overcharged your batteries and made them weaker instead of stronger. I would suggest you replace the batteries (2 12/12AH) and charge them with the new charger. Remember to reinstall the heat sensors on each battery when replacing. If you have a digital voltmeter set it to 200 v dc and put the leads into the 2 outer plugs in the charger port on the battery pack. You should read 24-26 volts dc when the batteries are fully charged anything less would mean weak batteries. Hope this helps you

hi, the charger unit is breaking down, Sometimes the batteries can cause this problem but I think you find it the charger, when batteries get older they simply don't hold the charge as much as when new, also the way they deliver power can drop off quicker.

It is possible the the battery could be damaged after being stored for that length of time. If it was wasn't completely charged before storage, or if it was exposed to extreme temperatures (even for a short amount of time) you may need to find a replacement battery. http://www.batteryinternational.com/electric-scooter-batteries.html should have the battery you need.

Travel pal will not charge

It is time to replace the batteries. Buy two, not just one. This scooter takes two 12 volt, 12 amp hour, sealed deep cycle batteries. If you replace just one, the charger will not charge them properly. Take off the seat (pull upward). Turn the scooter on its side. Remove the six screws (2 in front, 2 under the foot rest, and 2 in the back. Unsnap the old batteries (one at a time) and replace with new. Be sure to keep the wiring as is, so you keep the circuit in series (not in parellel). In fact, before you remove the old batteries, label the connections (A to A, B to B, etc.) so you reconnect just as they were. Total cost is about $200. Time to replace is about a half hour.

New 55ah batteries but charge won't last.

Battery life is affected by many things. But inside a tiled space like Walmart is probably the best possible running conditions. Make sure your tires are fully inflated, and you may need to have the motors check for worn brushes or maybe the wheel bearings are dry. Does the scooter push hard when in free-wheel mode? You may also need to have your charger checked, to be sure your batteries are really being fully charged.
