I recently cleaned out the spray arms, filter, etc. of my Maytag Quietseries 300 and noticed a couple of what seemed to be tears in the filter lining. Now there is a fine, gray sticky grit-like substance on the bottom of the dishwasher after each cycle. Does this indicate I need a new filter?

UNGLOGGED THE BOTTOM/TOP . CLEAN IT AND SHOULD BE OKAYARMS SPRAYER, THEN IF IS GOOD AN NOT ENOUGH WATER CHECK WATER VALE SCREEN

Remove each arm and inspect the small spray holes for plugging. Use a vacuum in the center hole and poke out each plugged hole. Unless your vacuum allows wet pick-up, make sure the arm is dry first. Try using a capsule type of detergent instead of liquid. You might have to tear down the lower spray arm assembly to the deck to clean the large screen which may be plugged with water/food deposits. Use hot water, detergent and white vinegar to clean the screen. Hope this helps!
