The SHR-2082 cannot record OTA TV because it does not have a tuner. It is meant to record video from a set of security cameras.

The manual for the SHR-2082 is available from Samsung support here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SHR-2082 .

I wish that I had better news for you.

I got a rca digital TV recorder and wanted to use it to record from my cobra security camera is it compatible

The digital TV recorder shown is an ATSC (digital OTA) to NTSC (analog OTA) signal converter. It connects between an OTA antenna (RF, RG59/RG6 connector) and an older television or VCR/DVD recorder with a NTSC tuner. Some wired security cameras use a BNC connector to the security system receiver.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Can I record one Channel while watching another on Samsung series 6 tv

Yes. It is generally the capability of the DVR or SetTop Box.
so it even records when the TV is off as long as power and cable are alive.

Why cant I change channels when recrding 2 progs?

Hello Anonymous,
You did not specify if you are using a DVR capable cable/satellite box, which I what I presume is the case. That DVR has two tuners in it - each tuner allowing you to watch and/or record two programs at one time and in any combination. If both of those tuners are used for recording then you cannot watch another "live" stream as there no available tuners to tune and display (or stream to the DVR hard drive for recording). You can only switch between the two recording programs.
As a side note, if your TV has a built-in tuner, you can split the cable and have one going to the DVR and the second run going to the TV set. You can then use the TV's built in tuner and watch what anything it can get. It won't get scrambled digital cable but will get analog and Clear QAM channels.

My TV uses antenna only and I want to record TV programs. Is there a DVR that will work for me? (the Toshiba DVR 620 that I just purchased will not connect to my TV antenna unless there is an access

I use a TiVo roamio basic, it can record up to 4 programs at once and has a 500gb harddrive and is made for OTA, but can also use a cable card. Check it out on eBay.com or TiVo.com.

This unit doesn't have a tuner of any sort. Even on the few DVR/DVD recorders that have tuners, the external composite video inputs do not connect to the tuner. To record from the L1 or L2 inputs, you must be using a set-top box (cable, satellite, or digital-to-analog converter for OTA signals) or another video source (video camera or a vcr). Most TVs do not have video output capabilities. If you have one of those, follow the directions for recording from set-top boxes below.

Turn on and set the source to the channel that you wish to record for any set-top box. Then make sure that the set-top box is left on and at the correct channel after you finish setting the frequency, speed and length of time for the recording. Note: if the set-top box is turned off, your recorder will still record the blank video and audio.
What source do you have connected to the VCR?

To record from a video camera or a VCR, set that source to play back at the desired time point. This is best done without the timer. Just start recording and then the playback.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with your video source for more support.

(My OTA tuner has a energy-saver option that turns off the unit when there is no activity for a while. Since I usually record when I'm either asleep or away from home, I had to disable the feature to get the correct recordings.)

Panasonic DMR-ES25 Trouble setting up to record TV shows

The DMR-ES25 does not have an ATSC tuner; it has an NTSC tuner. See page 54 (Specifications) of the manual at the bottom of the left column (television system). You need to add digital to analog (ATSC to NTSC) OTA converter box between the antenna and the DVD recorder. Next, you will set the converter box to the channel you wish to record and set the DVD recorder to record on a composite input (Line in) or channel 3/4 depending on how you set up the converter box.

The only remaining analog broadcasts are a few low-power stations. Unless you live close to one of these transmitters, your DMR-ES25 will not be able to tune in any channels. Make sure that you find a converter box with composite and/or RF out if you wish to use the DVD recorder. There are some currently available ATSC tuners that have built-in DVR capabilities. These might also work for you. However, many of the cheap units fail quickly.

I hope this helps.

We cannot watch a show on another channel on other

Hello! Dan Busa here with DISH Network customer service. This is actually how your DVR is supposed to function. A 622 is a dual tuner reciever meaning it's capable of watching or recording two live shows at a time. When you record a show you tie up one tuner, there are two work arounds. You can get an additional dvr receiver or you can set up record preferences and have everything automatically record to tv2.

Recording from the TV

I don't thinks it possible. Usually those cameras can record through a DV port that is two way not though an analog device.

You will have to use a Tivo, a DVD recorder, a VCR, or a computer with at TV tuner and DVR capability.
