If it has aux input rca's, then go to an electronics or car audio shop and buy a "stereo rca to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter cable" This will then plug into the headphone jack on the ipod.

How do I hook up my ipod to my pioneer vsx d409 ?

The best way is to use a 3,5mm stereo jack to 2 RCA cable like this:
technical114_34.jpg
You can easily find one like this at your local audio/electronics shop or buy one on line. You have to connect the RCA at any free stereo input at the back of your Pioneer (like aux or cd). Take a look at this picture:
technical114_35.jpg
After this you can use the 3.5mm stereo jack for connecting not only your ipod but every mp3 player or other device has an earphone jack. Just plug the 3.5mm jack at the earphone jack and rise the volume at the portable device up to the middle of the volume range and set your Pioneer input selector at the stereo input that you connect the 2 RCA before (aux or cd)

How do you connect an Ipod throught the aux input?

what type of input does your radio have? if its a head phone jack input just get a headphone to headphone jack wire from radioshack and plug one end into you ipod and the other into the radio, set your radio to aux and your ipods volume to 70-80%. if its an rca input, it exactly the same but you will need an rca to headphone jack wire. if its usb, just use the cable that came with you ipod.

I want to connect my ipod to the aux inputs on back of unit

Hello gcd_sun,

The RCA jacks on the back of the Pioneer DEH-1500 are preamp outputs, not inputs. They are to connect an external amplifier for additional speakers or subwoofers.

The output from your iPod is probably "bleeding over" into the receiver detector stage. When the antenna is disconnected, the signal passes into the amp by itself. Connecting the antenna provides enough signal so that both are amplified.

To connect the iPod, you need to purchase a wireless iPod adapter, or a new head unit that includes an "AUX" input or a dedicated adapter for the iPod.

Hope this helps.

I have a audio/video multi-channel receiver VSX-D810S digital processor, probably about 7 years old. How do I hook up my ipod to play music out speakers in my home, same as cd's?

Check Radio Shack, thay make an adaptor with a white and red audio plug that can connect to an input on the receiver (AUX) the other end goes into the headphone jack on the iPOD.

JBL Media 100 Speaker power?

Buy a power adapter from radio shack or similar place. You need a 1000mA 12 volt dapter. Just make sure it is rated @ or above 1000mA to avoid the adapter heating up and possibly burning. The whole setup is rated @ 850mA wich 1A(1000mA) should handle with enough head room. But it might run you about $15-20. I would just buy a cheap radio with rca inputs/aux input and use that. I got one from Walmart for around $40 and it plays CD's & AM/FM.

Can i connect ipod adaptor to rca output jacks?

With out an input jack you cannot connect straight to your head unit. The RCA out puts only send a signal out. Your best bet is use an FM transmitter for your Ipod. The sound wont be as good but I can't think of another way with buying a new head unit.

Can I add a jack to play an ipod to my factory 6 cd stereo?

I believe so, there are some audio jacks that are converters from a power source, such as, a lighter jack.

Aux location

There is a RCA cable that comes off the back of the radio and also another cable for 3.5mm (mini-stereo jack) that also comes off the back of the radio. The RCA jacks can be used for "AUX" or "Sub-woofer" and the 3.5mm jack is just for "AUX". Your ipod can use the audio output jack or the headphone jack and plug that into the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the radio. You will need a "3.5mm male" to "3.5mm male" stereo cord that can be purchased at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Then you select "AUX" on the display with the source button to listen to it. You may need to go into the menu and activate the "AUX" input. Check your owners manual for details.

Auxilary RCA inputs have no volume control

Your problem stems from the fact that the CDA-7892 is not equipped with an RCA aux-input jack. If you're plugged into RCA connectors at the back of the head unit, they're outputs, not inputs. The sound you hear is just feeding back through the outputs and into the head unit's amplifier. If you want to play your iPod through this head unit, you need to purchase either the auxiliary input adapter (KCA-121B) or iPod adapter (KCA-420i).
