The black cartridge in my hp photosmart c6180 all in one wont work. i tried resetting the machine but the black still wont work. all the other colours work and the black clearly has ink in it. was brand new and replaced. can u give me a solution??

How did you resetted the machine?? Did it gave you any error messages?? Try to take out the black ink cartridge and try to clean the contacts (the copper colored circles) with a cotton swab dampened with bottled water. (don't use tap water coz there are contaminants on the tap water might ruin the contacts). Send me a message if it still wont work

OK now this might seem bizarre, but did you go ahead and click the "Black Only" print option?
I have a C6180. Just installed all new cartridges. Tried to print and got the message that Cyan is empty. Tried all sorts of things. Then out of frustration clicked the Black Onl option. Document came out printed in color! Double checked with a picture that has lots of cyan colors. It all printed too! Go figure.
Well if you already installed a new black ink cartridge and still wont print, then try cleaning your printer head. It can be that the some ink was hardened and got stuck preventing you to print a black color.

Have pulled the ****** apart... wont go into detalis
try copy black only sheet of text 12x20 times then run head clean
I was getting white sheets output
if no black run 25x3 times black only on copy
then do head clean

I have had this problem on a c6180. Got a replacement printer in December, however, am getting same issue now. Cartridge replacement no help including master printer reset and various other procedures. Am on with HP now....again....
