The tv problems is call a convergence picture problems,it is just starting to developing.This problems when it is fully developing into a convergence picture problems to the tv eventually.Tv will develope into a colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have a colors shadow pictures or into a picture 3D look alike.Eventually the tv convergence board will dies,have to have it parts replaced like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.This problems the tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and lobors.
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem. 2 Things can cause this Red Tube needs to be adjust down on screen drive control or you need to replace Both of your STK ICS. Sony has alot of problems with Defective Tubes.Red and Blue Shorted out the most.
U replaced 2 STK convergence ICS right?U check all the resistors too,and replaced it right?The convergence problems usally reset it back by it self.If all convegence parts are replaced correctly,and finish.
WITH AN ORIGINAL SONY REMOTE HIT THE DISPLAY BUTTON TO REMOVE THE INPUT ON SCREEN DISPLAY---IF YOU leave it on long enough it will burn that image into one or more of the 3 picture Tubes.
ALMOST ANY SONY TV REMOTE WILL WORK FOR THIS FUNCTION.
Go into the tv menu and select the Preferences menu and set your picutre preference from Theater to Normal. The TV is currently in Theater mode, wich is for viewing with no lights on in the room. Switching it to normal lightens the pictue a lot.
One or more of the projectors lights( my guess is the green one) are either blown or in the process of going bad. Have them repaired or replqaced by an authorized tech.
