Skullcandy earbuds one earbud not working

I have a black/grey pair of skullcandy earbuds bought at Best Buy less than a year ago. One of the earbuds doesn't work anymore. Can I ship these back for repair? What is my warranty on these? Thanks for your help with this matter.

One of my earphones wont play and sound through it, i'd only had them maybe a month, hadn't cracked them or dropped them or anything and one day the left earphone broke. You can't hear anything through it.

It is likely that your right stereo channel has either been severed somehow or there is a severe short in one of the cables. What you can try to do to test this theory is first turn on your music. Then wiggle the cable at the very base of the right earbud. If nothing happens wiggle the cord right where it connects to the stereo jack. If still nothing happens run your fingers along the right earbud audio cable bending and twisting it. If at any point you hear music again then you likely have a short. If it is near the earbud then it is going to be difficult to fix since these earbudfs have a large gauard. If the short is at the stereo jack then the fix is simple. A standard 1/8" stereo jack can be purchased from any electronics or audio store. You can then fairly easily seperate teh old stereo jack and solder this new one in place. Search the internet for tutorials on how to do this if need be. Even if you do not get any kind of sound when wiggling it at the base of the jack this is the most likely culprit since this is where most of the stress on the headphones occur. Be wary though, if you do attempt a stereo jack repair you will void whatever kind of warranty your earbuds may have so check before you try. But, in teh end you may end up saving a 60-100 dollar set of earbuds for 5-8 dollars. Hope this helped.

I know that Skullcandy has a lifetime warranty on stuff like this... I know a couple people who had theirs replaced no trouble at all. After looking on their site, the link to the warranty info is www.skullcandy.com/warranty. Hope this helps!

With skullcandy they have limited lifetime warranty. which means that if the wiring goes out the will replace it. if you step on them you get 50% off. all you have to do is go to there site and fill out the warranty form. once you do that they send you a email with a warranty number and you send them back and you either get a new pair or a 50% off code! http://www.skullcandy.com/warranty-information.html check it out.

Same thing with mine just over a month old. My problem is at the jack and by wiggling I can get the music to play. Question: How do I take the jack apart?

Check the wires where they connect to the plug at the bottom... thats usually where they disconnect. if you know how to solder, i'd just solder the wires back on. If not, ask a friend that does. I'm working on a pair right now, its not too bad.

I dont have skull candy earbuds, but i had the same problem with my left earbud and i was looking for a solution on the internet and the solution i found tht worked was to **** on the earbud with the problem. Its gross but if its not working from a blockage of some sort such as earwax, it should work. works best if u can remove the squishy thing on the earbud, but i dont know if you can do that on skull candy buds.

I have to constantly press the mic 3 part to get stereo, otherwise all I get is the weaker part of the stero audio, voices/vocals are missing.

Hi, I bought a pair of sony bubble ear buds less than a month ago and was really enjoying them, but the left earbud has gone completely silent. I take good care of them and don't ever play my music...

its probably not the earbuds just that it seems all sony mp3 players have a problem in which the left side contact in the jack (the hole that the earbuds plug into) goes bad had this happen on the third player so far .

My skullcandy earphones are busted

could be caused by the way you wrap them up the cords should never be wound tightly it causes a short and it just so happens that earphones are made of light weight wiring to make them seem to disapear when wearing them so what to do is instead of winding them when your done simply fold them loosely so to speak

Left earbud problems

Well, I had the same problem with the right earbud. Luckily I was under warranty with Target, so they told me to contact Bose. I did and they had me send in the headphones (to make sure I waas telling the truth) and about 2 weeks later I got my earbuds back. Their customer service is excellent, so that's what I would reccomend
