that does not sound good.
you might have to open it up and have a look inside and see if anything has burned out.
or get some one to look at it for you.

The trigger switch, if not functioning properly, appears to be a likely suspect for this vacuum. You didn't mention what type of "noise" you are hearing, but if it sounds as though the motor is attempting to run then check to make sure you haven't picked up something that is binding the roller brush and preventing it from turning. If neither of these suggestions helps, you would would appear to have a motor or charger issue.

yes the wires are probable not properly connected to the brush bar motor dyson is not like other vacuums if you reverse the wires the motor does not turn it reverse it simply stop rewire it correctly or take it to guarantee vacuum and sewing center for better comsumption they have a lifetime warenty on them that should cover that all dyson vacuums do

I checked the owners manual. Here are some things you can check:

The thermal sensor has shut it down. The manual says to let it cool down for 5 plus minutes, then try it again. I imagine you've tried that already, so ....

The nozzle could be partially blocked. The nozzle MUST be detached in order to clean it. Use something as long as the nozzle, like a stiff wire or needle like object, to clear it. Then flush it backwards with water.

Since the fuse blew, try the machine without the extensions hose or use a little higher rated fuse or both.

The pump/spray gun is leaking.

If none of these works, please reply back.

Hi Helen. Some times the best way to get a new belt is to simply take the old one to a vacuum store and they should be able to match you up with one. Hope this helps, Chris
