if the specific game save data is corrupted while saving(turn off the system while saving or electricity goes off) it can happen.
simply start the system without any disc in it, got to browser, u can see memory card , go inside it you can see the save files try to delete the files and the system config file also. if you cannot delete the it is done using 3rd party software which u can buy it in the websites
If you're positive that you're saving the game correctly (saving through the Save option in the trunk and letting it finish saving), then there's a problem with your copy of the game
If you obtained a "second hand" copy through some place like eBay, then you may well have a pirated copy of the game (which are known to have a number of problems)
If you purchased it from a store, then take it back for a replacement (possibly testing it on another DS just to make sure)
I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this problem, but I figured you'd appreciate any input.
If your discs are scratched, this can certainly cause some problems, so make sure that's not a factor.
You said you tried playing without a hard drive. How about formatting the hard drive/memory card? That could possibly do the trick.
The disc lens could be dirty, and for that you can find a lens cleaner. If none of those help, it could be that your hardware is simply damaged. If that's the case, then you'll have to ship it out for repairs.
The only thing I can say is that you are scammed. Never buy a second hand playstation from strangers. And no, a memory card won't help. It's for saving games only.
Maybe the disc is scratched (Check the bottom of it) which would explain the disc reading error, or the lens are dirty (Should get a DVD Cleaning KIT), which also explains it.
The PS2 has had some issues with PSX games. In any case, its probably a good idea to clean the lens on your PS2. If not, then you'll probably want to adjust it.
If you aren't knowledgable in how to do this, I can't really instruct you, but I can tell you to take it to a Play N Trade or anywhere that your console can be fixed, and inform them that you want to make an adjustment on the lens.
Due to the fact that other PSX games seem to work, my guess is the copies you got are either pirated copies in normal cases, or the discs are just broken.
Try changing the backup of NDS to FLASH512kbps...it's in the emulation
setup. The same thing happened to my Harvest Moon: Island of
Happiness.. When I changed the backup, it loaded my game..hope that
helps
The game should, of course, overwrite existing saves without problem (even if second hand)
You are not prompted to save when you quit (since there really isn't a quit or even a return to menu)
While the game does have a few set save points, the best way to save (which can be done at any time) is to use the Save option in the trunk (some players forget about this)
If you save into a save slot doing this and it's not there when you next restart the game, then something is wrong
It should also be noted that some (if not many) of the "second hand" copies purchased on eBay are actually pirated copies that have caused problems for players (including stopping with blacked out screens during the game)
If you are confident that saving just isn't working and you're unable to return the game for replacement or refund, one drastic course of action may be to corrupt the save (by quickly turning off the DS while it saves), thus causing the game to say the save is corrupted and make a new save file ... naturally, this should only be done as a last resort
try this:
1. you may not have user permissions to make changes to the document:
check with the document creator or save the file with a different name so you become the new owner of the new document.
2. check if destination folder has enough room:
if not change the location of the file to be saved.
3. you may be using incorrect characters given the file name when saving the file:
don't use "/" when saving the file.
