Key to tx-green lite out-no output power or red lite rec ok

Did you go into the audio setup menu and direct the audio from the speakers to the optical cable?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

Start with the simple things.

• Check left right balance
• Swap output speakers left to right
• Swap the speakers at the receiver to make sure no wire open/short
• Swap input RCA cables left to right red/white - white/red

JVC has thermal overload circuits/overload on most of there Amps.

Remove power for a minute or two to see if there is a reset.

Rewire speaker connections to speaker set 2.

Connect REC out to Rec In swap cables and see if problem is in pre-amp or power amp.

Check internal fuses.

Replace the horizontal output transistor. It is leaky.

IIC bus clock and/or data lines low at power on 06

Check its LOT [Line Output Transformer]. Replace it along with Line Output Transistor.

I'd take it back and tell them to put the old ones back in it. It already blew that one.

Well,first hand ,some cobra radio,s have red some have green RX/TX lights, but are you modulating? Some green lights turn red. What is your standing Wave on the antenna,s? You need to check it and the output of the radio. To do this you need a watt or field strenth meter. Can get one at Radio Shack. Your standing Wave is ok as long as it is below a 2. That has to be done on the antenna. ..hope this helps...

I suspect however, that the absence of the green LED, the red probably is a warning about excessive VSWR which can damage the output section of the radio; you need a better antenna match.
