You did not mention the new computer model but I suspect it may have an onboard audio card. You'll need to go into bios and DISABLE the onboard sound card.Reboot and it should see your new card.Hope that helps

Could you kindly explain to me how to to so step by step please?

  • Anonymous Apr 27, 2011

and yes , there is a onboard audio card on the mother board , sadly i have no idea what mother card it is :/

  • Anonymous Apr 27, 2011

ok this will be easy.Start the computer and while it is booting up press f2 or f8 depending on the bios. You should see something during the bootup asking to press a key (likre f1,f2)if you want to enter bios. Follow those instructions and you will enter bios.Depending on the bios setup it will differ from computer to computer. You will see tabs you can select .I want you to select a tab one at at time and look at the options given you for each page. What you are looking for is a selection for onboard sound card. You will only have the option to enable or disable.Disable the onboard sound..Find the tab to exit .It will ask you to save or not save.Select save.DO NOT tinker with any other settings as BIOS is actually the brains of your computer.(Software is like going to school and learning.) If you are in doubt of something that happened you can select not to save.
Next be sure the audio card is installed and reboot and it should see the new audio card. What you have here is a irq conflict..Stay in touch and let me know as this is easy.If your in the usa I would be willing to call you and step you through.Hope this helps

Move the card to a different pci slot on the motherboard. It may have a conflict with another device. Make sure there is no power to the pc when you do this. If you still have the problem after trying all the slots then i suggest you empty all of them and just try the audio card on its own. If it works then fit the card/s you removed into other slots. good luck.

depending on the age of the machine. I would think the graphics card is on a pci express slot or an agp slot. I am referring to just an ordanary pci slot. You may have 2 or 4 of them. what is the model of motherboard? And what is the model number SB---- of the sound card?

  • Anonymous Apr 27, 2011

the mother board is asus P5QPL-AM and the model of my sound card is SB0570

It will not be a bios issue as it worked in xp and will not in Win7. It may also be that your windows 7 is the 64 bit version and you are installing the 32bit version. Make sure the driver you are using is the right one for the right version of win 7 you are using. However I cannot understand why the card is not being detecting on boot up. It should?

Neded creative audio driver sb0570 for win 7

I wasn't able to find a plain language description for the SB0570 (assuming it's a Sound Blaster card), but using that model number in a search on the Creative driver database produced this link that lists a Windows 7 driver for the following cards:

Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS
Sound Blaster 5.1 VX

The site cautions that the driver should only be used for those devices.

Hope that's helpful.
