Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

If these actions have not cured the problem, it could be the control board OR the main motor. Motors will show weaknesses when commanded to spin.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Check for water leaks, I've had 2 of these both with motor faults caused by leaks one showed that light fault.
Unplug the machine.
Remove the front panel that holds the drain plug, there is a screw on both sides of the machine take them out and pull the panel off.
If there is water, water stains on the bottom of the machine or rusty bolts you probably have a leak.
Stop using the machine until it's fixed or the water will damage the motor.

Check the belt that spins the drum for proper tension. If it has stretched you will have a hassle. Often you can loosen a belt pulley and put some extra tension on belt, restore friction and operation till belt is replaced with a nice, new tight one.

Duet whirpool washing machine stop and DLF sign appear

Hi,
Initially unplug the washing machine. While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for five seconds.
Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the DL code is cleared.

If you still face the problem then follow the procedure:

Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause].
This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum.

Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Hope this helps.

Zanussi ZWF580- after the wash cycle I press the red button to rinse & spin but it just tumbles & rinses again, then the red button comes on again. This could go on all day. I find that to finish...

If the START / PAUSE button lights up red, the washing machine detects a malfunction. Now you should count how many times the START / PAUSE button lights up red and tell to us what kind of malfunction is being done.

Try to rapid reading of alarm codes when the appliance is in normal operating mode (e.g. during the execution of the washing
programme):
Press and hold down START/PAUSE and the nearest option button for at least two seconds: the LEDs initially switch off, and then display the flashing sequence indicating the last alarm.

LED indicator START / PAUSE with red light = indicates the first digit of the alarm code (family)
• LED indicator START / PAUSE with green light = indicates the second digit of the alarm code (internal number of the family)

My Bosch front end washing machine will not start a cycle. Door is closed tightly and when I push start/pause red light comes on & immediately goes off-this happens every time I push the start/pause...

My Bosch washer turns "on" and water runs but it does not spin or complete wash. I hear the machine "clicking" as if it is attempting to to function but no spin or full wash cycle.

WASHING CYCLE STOPS AFTER A MINUTE

Can you skip through the programme to drain? Press pause button. then press start to move the lights down to the empty cycle. leave to finish.

If you have already tried this, I can explain how to put machine into engineer test mode, which will then give out a fault code to identify problem.
