SOURCE: Motor overheating

Had the same problem 2 years ago. Washing filters only a short-term solution. After contacting Dyson, they replaced the shroud and cyclone under warranty. This cured the problem from July 05 until last week, when the motor has started to overheat again and cuts out on the high temperature safety trip. Mine is out of warranty now, so am unsure how to proceed. Maybe buy the parts they sent me before, but reckon they'll be expensive.

Don't know if you can find something that will work, Eureka doesn't make these motors available thru them. Try some local shops or a place that sells small motors.

Eureka doesn't make these motors available. Best to just replace the stick vac with a new one.

SOURCE: How do I remove the washable filter to clean it on my Dyson bagless vacuum?

As you are looking down at the base of the machine (viewing from the front) you will notice a yellow button on the right side just inside of the the wheel area. push up the button to release the casing that holds the hepa filter and the spongy filter. You can see a diagram on your machine which shows this process. After you take the casing from the machine, the round housing which houses the 2 filters will come out of this casing as you pull it off. You can grab the spongy filter and pull it our of the casing. Rinse both filters as shown in diagrams on the side of the casing. Do not use soapy water, just warm water and squeeze out the spongy filter after each new soaking. Let the filters dry for 12 hours and then replace in your unit and enjoy the refurbished air movement. It does suggest that you clean these filters every 6 months.

I have a Eureka The Boss superlite upright vacuum Model405 I know...it's old..LOL. I was vacuuming and it just shut down and I was wondering if there was a reset button somewhere. Thanks

I am not sure about your "Boss", but a lot of vacuums have thermal cut-off switches built into the circuit so if the machine overheats from things like clogged filters/hoses the switch kicks in and kills power. You usually can NOT reset it manually ... you just have to wait until the machine cools down.

What kind of dust cup do I use in the 26.0?

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

The dust cup used in the Eureka superlite is the DCF- 17. The part number for this is: 63170B. Filters should be replaced every 3 to 6 months for optimal performance. For any other parts you may need for your Eureka Vacuum visit: http://www.crucialvacuum.com.

I hope this was helpful. If you would like further assistance, please feel free to give us a call at 877.750.9239. We have helpful and friendly customer care representatives on the line ready to assist you.

How can I use my upright as air compressor to inflate air mattress

It would be difficult because your upright does not have an exhaust port where you can hook up a hose. You would have to attempt to funnel the air from the exhaust filter into a hose or tube.

Eureka boss power plus

I had this same problem. The brush roll wouldn't spin, smoke came out, and it smelled like burning rubber. I changed the belt thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't, so I took the belt back off and checked the motor shaft in the back and found a whole bunch of hair wrapped around the shaft. Once I cut out the hair with some scissors and replaced the belt, everything worked like normal. I hope this helps.

I changed the belt on a Eureka Whirlwind superlite, all was well but I can't seem to find where this white piece of plastic approx.2" and less than 1/2" wide and there is a copper like V shaped clip, I was hoping maybe you had a diagram or something showing where these go.
Much Appreciated

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I would suggest contacting your local vac dealer in your area to she id they have a schematic of the Eureka Whirlwind Superlite vacuum, and include the model number so that it would be easier to find the vacuum you are speaking of or you also can check on line, some factory manufacturer have some type of schematics that you can download using the name and model # of the vacuum, but this is not a guarantee, So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Belt broke

The belt number is 60957, There should be some screws that you remove from the bottom and the whole bottom nozzle will come apart, then you can change the belt.
