I have a Coolscan IV with the coolscan 3 Software, and i have a mac book pro. The following message appears: Error "Could not send look up tables to scanner.", Please help me

Try upgrading to v4.02 driver. You may need to download 4.0 first as 4.02 may only upgrade from 4.0. The scanner runs with v4.02 on my Mackbook pro but I can only scan using the slide adapter and the film holder at present. The film adapter will not work but i'm not sure if this is a hardware or software problem.

You've not said what the message is but I suspect that the software is too old to be used on the macbook if it is running OS X 10.7 (Lion) or if you are running snow leopard, it may be a non-intel version of the software. It may be asking you to instal rosetta which would be on your snow leopard instal disk.

If the Nikon website does not have updated software you could try vuescan which according to this page http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/nikon_coolscan_iv_ed.html does work with the film scanner and you can download a demo version which you can trial before you buy. Hope this helps.

Nikon Coolscan IV ED Jam Solution

Do you find your older slides, cardboard slides, or irregular slides jam in the Nikon SF-210 Slide Feeder for your Nikon CoolScan IV ED?

Try this solution:

Take a AAA battery and place it in rear, left side of the slide feeding tray as pictured below:

The slides will fan out nicely, and your Nikon CoolScan IV ED will no longer try to load more than one at a time. Instead it will load them one at a time, 50 per tray, and you can actually walk away from it and let it do its job, just the way you intended to when you bought the SF-210 slide feeder attachment!

Nikon Coolscan 9000 ED can not be recognized by computer

I am having the exact same problem...cannot get the Coolscan 9000 to show up in Device Manager. One thing I did try (to no avail) was to run the regsweeper.exe file that comes with the Nikon scan disk. It clears your registry when you reinstall. It still did not work though so I have a lovely "shoebox" sitting next to my computer that is worthless!
