Do sudo gedit /ect/modules

make a new line, and add this code:

apm power_off=1

then the next time you shut down after this time the computer should be fine.

Quick Tip: How to correctly shut your computer down

This may seem like a simple tip, it is, however it can cause many unneeded problems to your computer if you do not shut it down properly. Do Not shut down your computer by pressing the power button. Whether you have a PC or a laptop, don't use the button. When you go to shut your computer down go to start and shut down and it will shut off. If you do not do this correctly it doesn;t give your computer the proper amount of time to shut down, you can corrupt your Windows files and eventually have problems even booting your computer up. Simple solution that will avoid future problems! Hope this helps!

Toshiba satellite L750-iq6 won't shut down or sleep?!?

That is a software issue with the OS. Was it always like this? If not, try a system restore to some time in the past when you know the unit was working fine.

Projector doesn't turn off when I press the off button ....I have to disconnect the power cable to shut it down

All projectors take a bit of time to shut off, when pressing the power button it first shut off the lamp, than the fan runs for some time after to cool down the lamp, have you waited long enough??? if after a minute or two, if it is still running than try pressing the power button on the unit it self, it could be a defective remote as well.

Cheers!

When I went to shut it down it had a few programs to shut down. I waited a few minutes then closed the lid down. It is now flashing on the first light symbol on the corner and when you open it up it turns...

Sounds like it is stuck in hibernate mode. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds and try to start it again. If it doesn't start remove the battery, unplug the laptop, hold the power button down for 60 seconds. Now plug in the power supply but leave the battery out. Turn it on. It should start now and you can re-insert the battery.

I have samsung g 19000 and i have forgot my unlock

hi,
if you forget your lock code try to reset your phone in ths easy way...but i want you to know that all of your data will be deleted...

here is the instruction...

1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Galaxy S is frozen, pull the battery out and
reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage,
and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

If the above procedures doesn't work, use this second method below,
1. Shut Down Samsung I9000 Galaxy S
2. Now press the Volume up, Home and Power button together.
3. When Samsung Symbol shows up release the power.
4. Then there is a boot Menu. Use the volume up/down to choose and home to select.
If YES is selected, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from your
Samsung I9000 Galaxy S. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory
fresh state.
