restore to factory settings with alt f10 at boot

To reboot the system click on Start and then on the shutdown menu choose restart or shutdown.
If this error happens with a bluescreen and white writing then you will have to press the power button for about 5 seconds to force it to shutdown.
To reinstall the eData software use the Acer software CD that came with your computer to reinstall it or download it from Acer :

delete/uninstall edata security completely.

Then download a more stable security like AVG, McAfee or Norton, check this site some are having the same problem and this seems to be the best solution.

Sounds like you have either a virus or spyware, you can boot into Safe Mode with networking and download Malwarebytes from Malwarebytes.org and run a scan to see if it finds any roue software. When in safe mode run MSCONFIG from Start, Run and uncheck enything that looks suspicious and then reboot.

I have searched the Acer website and the user guide for your model and can find no reference to the edata software referenced. I think that a system restore is what you need. Per the manual press alt-f10 to enter the utilities and create a system restore cd and an application restore cd reboot with the system cd and restore the computer to a factory fresh condition. Remember that no user data will be saved so if you have documents or pictures etc. make a copy first. Good Luck

try logging in safe mode and reboot the pc after loading safe mode I have had programs crash installing and I loaded safe mode and restarted pc and in safe mode it fix the problem.. so when I restarted pc it worked ok.. the program mighted of corrupted and you might have to uninstall it and reinstall it I dont remember if acer has a app disk like dell,emachines(new),gateway or ifs a full restore disk.. Im thinking that its a app disk.. you might also want to check for viruses. with a program like house call free scanner from trend.. and spyware scanner free adaware. both are good.
if you still cannot login to windows you can run msconfig in run box and disable it in startup but becareful with what you disable

This warning is beeing shown several times a day.

Ok that is just a program that comes with the Acer laptops, it really is Useless and I dont use it on my computer, its part of the acer e management , e recovery, and etc programs that acer made. To fix this you can uninstall it under the ADD/remove programs or if you want to keep it you can then goto the acer website and under support put your model number in and download that particular software again and it might fix itself if there where some type of missing files on that particular software. Secondly if this is a vista machine it could be the software is not compatible and it causes the OS to crash which then comes with that error to the user and never goes away . Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution.

Everytime I open certain docs. I get told that "eDataSecurity was not properly installed! Please re-install the software" I then click Ok and the it says Windows explorer has stopped working.
It's becoming an anoyence considering I can't use my windows2007 anymore :(
Is there anything I can do to re-install eDataSecurity,so I can live out happy days with my computer and not decide to throw it out my window??
