SMART is to measure your Hard Disk Drive health. This warning tells you to backup important stuff and prepare to replace the HDD. If the computer can no longer boot into Windows, connect the HDD to another PC or you can also get one of those HDD enclosures which will let you connect the HDD to other PC's through USB connection so you can backup your files.

Hope this help, goodluck!

To disactive the password of harddisk

LOL, you're out of luck. If you're smart enough to set the hard disk password, you should be smart enough to remember it. 99% of the computers that have a password lock on the hard drive are stolen computers. The original owner put the lock on to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. The owner could have set the password remotely once the computer is stolen.

The computer is useless to you. The only way the password can be broken is if the original owner who put it on, takes it off? Even if you take the hard drive out of the computer, it can never be used again as long as it has a password lock on it.

How can i fix my acer 5515 smart failure predicted on hard disk 4 wdc wd1600bevt-22zcto-s1

This error message is warning that the hard disk could fail soon. It pays to back up your data frequently so when the hard disk fails you will not lose youe data.
The only way to fix this problem is to install a new hard disk, install Windows on the new hard disk and the Acer laptop's device drivers plus your programs and data.

SMART is used to measure your HDD health. It warns you of impending failure of your hard drive. If it goes down, it's a good idea to backup important stuff and prepare to replace the HDD.

S.M.A.R.T is an acronym for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology systems (SMART) and it's usually built in to most modern ATA and SCSI hard disks.

DELL Studio 1737, last week my computer shut down and now all I have is a message that states the following....SMART Failure Predicted on hard disk 0: WDC WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2-(S1)......WARNING: Immediately...

It sounds like the failure message is saying your hard drive is about to lose sector 0. But if you press F1 it will let you continue your boot and then you can backup your computer.

You can just do the system backup to a set of DVD's as instructed by the dell restore disk creator program. I have done this for my mothers home pc and works pretty well. Then when the HD does finally fail you can replace it and reload your system with the newly made restore disks.

Acer Aspire 5100: SMART Failure on Hard Disk 4

Hello there,

As per experience, SMART Utility will check your HDD for any errors that may occur.

I backed up everything and replaced a new HDD and got rid of the error.

Opened up the problematic HDD and noticed a very light scratch on its "platters".

As for me. Never ignore this warning before something might happen to your HDD and lost important data.

ACER SMART failure

SMART means self monitoring and reporting tool, this is the option which performs certain test for the status of hard disk health, if its coming it means condition of your hard disk is not good, its better if you immediately back up your data and replace it, by the way you can also disable this warning through the bios, just disable the smart feature in hard disk
