Make sure you have your bluetooth device in pairing mode to do this you usually hold the power button down while turning on the blue tooth device, then there should be a light that stays on ,now that u are in pairing mode you need to enter a pairing code most bluetooth manufacturers use a 4 digit pin pairing code they are as follows 0000,1234,9999,or 1111, i hope this helps.
SOURCE: Just got the new htc Evo are just wireless
Here is a solution from another user, hope it helps:
I had to do some serious massaging to get my EVO to pair with my Prius. It came down to what order I was doing things in (and honestly I dont recall at this point what that was, I did it 3 weeks ago). But suffice to say it wasnt the most straightforward thing. BTW, I also had to restart my phone in the process, because partway through it my phone simply refused to see my car anymore.
SOURCE: Trying to pair my HTC EVO to plantronics explorer
Had the same problem and called Plantronics. They reminded me about putting the earpiece in "Discovery Mode" by holding down the button when turning it on until it flashes blue/red. Then have the EVO scan for bluetooth devices. It found mine right away.
