The PROT error can result in one of two things if you have a divx disk the system that could do it otherwise it results in a fault on an onboard fan to cool off the receiver. usually meaing a faulty fan. you can replace the fan easily. worst case is the board went bad and you may be able to find one on ebay for cheap. sorry for the bad news. but thats the reasoning behind it. i hope the bad news doesnt stop you from giving me a good rating lol! but really i am sorry about your problem.

When I turn my system on, it waits 5 seconds, says "PROT" then shuts itself off.

There could be a short circuit in one of the speakers. This would cause high current flow thru the amplifier and result in self-protect. Disconnect all speakers from the unit and try powering up again. If there is no PROT, then reconnect speakers one by one until fault found or all speakers are reconnected.

When i turn on my Samsung HT-C550 IT showing PROT and DVD turn off. What this is mean PROT?

PROT means that the AMP is protecting itself from damage due to bad or incorrect wiring or damaged and or incorrect speakers. Check your wiring and speakers.
If you find no problem then, DISCONNECT YOUR SYSTEM FROM THE POWER, disconnect your speaker wires...all of them, then reconnect the power ONLY, turn on the system and see if it still says PROT. If it does then your amp is damaged.

HT-Z320 displays PROT code and then shuts down

i had the same problem a prot display then it would shut down. turns out i had the sub disconnected(noise complaint from the shaking at my apartment complex) but the speaker wires for the sub connected to the amp or central unit. when i disconnected the sub i left the wires on the floor behind the sub separating the pos. and neg. somehow the wires got moved around and the pos was touching the neg. as soon as i noticed and fixed this problem the system was working fine. my samsung hometheater model is HT-BD1250

Power issues

It sounds like you are drawing to many amps and you need to go to a higher capacity altinator and a second battery would be a good idea as well. Start your car (do it at night makes it easier to tell) turn on your headlights without your stereo on look at head lights and see how bright they are then slowly turn stereo on and up if headlights dim you are drawing to many amps and need a higher capacity alt to charge and stop you from blowing them, and second battery with and isolator so you don't draw amps from the battery that starts your car.
