My touchscreen has become very desensitized. I nearly need to put all my force into pushing the buttons or it does not respond. This problem happened to my last phone, though it was water damaged. This one is not. If this is a common problem I might opt to get a different phone, but for now any help would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Samsung U600 touchscreen

If you open the back of your phone, not recomending you do, there is a little clip connected to some wire, this leads to the screen buttons, this may have come use. The shop should do this for free, its nothing to worrie about. you have just knocked your phone and its come loose

SOURCE: the touchscreen is not working at all. att says

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

Garmin 2720 touch the (s) and the (T) responds

You need to recalibrate the touchscreen. Try this: Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then push down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen.

Go through the entire procedure of pressing each dot as it appears on the screen.

Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display.

If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective.

This is a common problem due to certain style of touchscreen that is known to fail due to temperature. if you can not recalibrate the screen, then the touchscreen needs to be replaced. More information, including the recalibration procedure can be found here:

The problem is a faulty contact from the touchscreen leading to the phone board. To be short: on the right side of the phone were the volume buttons are, under the touchscreen is the screen's contact. Try "detaching the screens face a little from the phone body exactly at the volume down button(using ur fingernail or something) and see if the touchscreen is responding in anyway. IF this is your case too...I suggest get a screw-driver and open the chassis, and trying to make the connection permanent, somehow.PS: you can send it back to warranty of a repair phone shop, only to force you to buy a new touchscreen and pay for the repairs, on a 99% working phone, with a faulty contact. The choice is yours:)
Good luck

Try pushing a spot just below the screen in about 1/2 of player height while using touchscreen - if it works than its about connectors that connects touchscreen to player (you can try to unglue the whole thing and try something to increase connectivity, like putting a little copper grease or give it to someone who got experience in this sort of thing)
