You can restore the Nuvi 205 system software to its factory condition by running Garmin's WebUpdater service. You may also want to try a hard reset of your Nuvi.

I found there are different settings on mine such a local. The local will take you all over an area instead of taking you in a straight line. Check your instruction book to know how to set it.

Try a different power cord. The unit thinks it's connected to a computer for some reason.

Replace the battery. Amazon sells battery replacement kits that come with the needed screwdriver. If it is still under warranty, contact Garmin Support.

Press the button with the picture of gears on it.
Press Down arrow.
Choose second menu item from the top.
Press the middle of the 3 boxes on the right.
Press up arrow to find American or British English.

Here is the procedure to calibrate the screen if you can not reach the calibration screen through the GPS menus. Nuvi 2xx/2xxW Series: Turn the Nuvi off. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then slide the on/off power switch to the left and hold until you see the calibration screen. Note: Some 2xxW models require the procedure below for the 7xx. Nuvi 7xx Series: Turn the Nuvi off. Touch the screen anywhere and keep your finger there while moving the on/off switch to left (don't wait for Garmin logo to come up) and then quickly moving the switch the right (lock position). After a short while, you will reach the calibration screen. Go through the entire procedure of pressing each dot as it appears on the screen until it says "Done". Now if you go through and press the dots and it keeps looping without saying "calibration complete" then the touchscreen has drifted out of specification and must be replaced. re-calebrate again, do a master reset, if that does not work then replace the device... no magic will fix a device that has a bad screen.

hi, try running in compatability mode as some sat navs software still only work properly with windows vista sp1.to do this right click on programe shortcut select compatability re-start pc after instal all should be well. good luck
