I had an original Classic which perhaps is slightly different to the recent models but they look the same. Fibreglass rods go through tunnels at each end of the roof. A two piece aluminium or stainless tube is forced between these two fibreglass rods to tension them into a curve. It takes a lot of pressure. On my tent there was a rounded bolt in the middle to make it easier to push down. When the roof is tensioned you use the two poles, one at each end, to erect the tent. Go round the base with pegs, there are no guy ropes. Had mine for over 20 years before it lost its waterproofing.
