You'll need to dis-assemble to see exactly what broke. Most of the time, it is not worth fixing since it was dropped, something else will let go in the near future. Sorry.

You'll spend less $ buy buying a new one.

Please check on the bottom of the lantern for an area that you can twist to open. If this process fails, please call manufacturer for copy of product manual. Thank you.

I have some various old Coleman products in great shape. There are two lanterns one circa 1964, the other circa 1973, (original boxes). Do you have a museum or something which might be interested?

I found that bashing it with a hammer numerous times helps to alleviate some of the frustration plus what does it hurt? Not like the damn thing was working anyway
