SOURCE: Our microwave oven acts like it is working - all
Hi, you have a faulty magnetron, capacitor, or diode that's keeping the unit from heating anything. They have internal fuses, but its good or nothing wood work. You can have these parts checked out at a appliance repair store, but wit parts and labor it may cost more then a new one just to be truthful with you. If you are handy, you can get into the electrical section and may get luck and see which part is faulty just by looking at them, for any blackish, scorching on any circuit boards, a capacitor is a small round or oval shaped part that holds a charge and these sometimes will leak, swell up and crack causing them to fail. If you want, you can try this. If you do have a board, this is where any diodes would be on the face of it, remove it enough to look on the back side for scorching and you can take it and purchase a new one and be back on line. These are just some options you may want to try. It may be something like a capacitor that is very easy to change out. This may save you some $$$$.If this is an older model, you may want to look for another, but if its a newer, I would spend the time to do the things I have said. I wish you the best on this, and want you to save your $$$$ on this. Please keep me posted, and would you please rate me on any help I may have been to you? Thank you!

Everything works on my GE microwave, but it did heat .24 hours later it started heating. It has happened a second time and did not work for48 hours..Theen it started heating again. I read the manual and found no reference to problem. Mode WES 1450 DM 1BB- Serial ZM 917603Ul
My oven is not heating either. Think when it first happened, it did sizzle & pop. It no longer makes that noise, it might have a slightly louder buzz to it. Everything else seems to function as it should. If it's the heating element, is it hardly worth repairing? It is @ 7years old
Hi, we just bought the GE Spacemaker Microwave oven, used it a couple of times, and not it does not heat anything. Everything else works, but the heating part.
I have the same problem. Everything seems to work just fine but it is not heating anything.
Worked fine last night.... Now will not heat anything.... No heat what so ever!!!
Microwave started heating unevenly. Louder than usual buzz. Then stopped heating completely. Died two weeks after 1 year warranty expired. I believe it's the magnetron/but have read other sites where magnetron was replaced for several hundred dollars in service costs, only to die again a short time later. Are all GE microwaves defective? Or are all over the range microwaves the problem? Is it worth giving a repair a shot?
I have the same problem. It made a loud pop or crack sound. Now everything works but makes a loud buzzing sound and just barely warms anything. Anyone have suggestions?

Was the noise like a sizzle or pop? When you try to heat now, it is making a louder than usual buzz or hum?

Is it making any unusual noises? Louder or quieter than usual? Are the turntable and cooling fan running when you try to cook?
microwave comes on,but does not heat.turntable turns come on like normal.
