We recently moved the tv and now when we turn it on it has double vision. It kinda looks like a 3d movie. What could be the issue? Is it worth fixing?

Hi,
If tv picture was fine before moved then check dry/ cold solder joints/ connections on convergence output ICs and nearby circuit area.
Local tv repairman will resolder loose/ dry solder connections to solve double vision picture problem.
TV worth fixing if picture is good.
Thanks.

My rca projection tv has blue and green images like a 3D picture would without your 3D glasses, a double vision image and no other colors

sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.

52 inch has double vision like the red and gereen colorr are serperated.

the convergeance is off. some remotes allow you to tune this in the setup menu on your television. in most cases though this is something that has been caused by moving the television around or just plain ole time. if you cannot correct it using your remote and the normal menu on your tv then you will need to contact a repair technician in your area to schedule him/her to recalibrate your tv and repair the separating 3d looking issue that is common with convergeance.

Good Luck!

Top of the screen looks like its melting and the picture has double vision as if you were watching a 3d movie with no glasses

Your TV most likely has a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

I am seeing double vision on my television.

I do not know your TV's model number, if your TV is a 3D television, please turn the 3D function off in the system menu.

53UDX10B 53 in. Rear Projection "3D vision"

the convergence IC`s and associated resistors have to be replaced, do not repeatedly push magic focus or the alignment after the parts change out will take longer which of course means higher repair bill, good luck
