To remove some links: If you don't have special tool, at least you have to have something really hard and thin (like the pin you use to post notes on the cork board). Put that pin in to the tiny hole between links where the bracelet pin is and then press/push it forward (follow arrow direction as shown on the inside of the bracelet links.) When the bracelet pin comes out at one end, pull it out of that end totally.
After removing one links, connect the two links next to each other by placing the bracelet pin back into the hole and push it to the other end.
To add some links: You have to have spare links and do the same way with the pin to attach more links.

Hi,

This sounds like the gear train is bound up. A watchmaker can clean the movement and get it working again for you.

Hope this helps,

Seiko kinetic stainless steel bracelet has snapped pin (both snapped ends still visible and flush in last flared bracelet link between watch body and start of bracelet.) How do I remove snapped pin ends...

There are several easy to follow tutorials on u-tube. It's easier for you to look at these than for me to describe how it is done. Just search "adjusting steel watch straps"

Vintage Caravelle runs fast

A quick look at ebay shows plenty of Bulova watches and only a few looking for a worthwhile price.

I think if you have it repaired for sale it probably won't be worth the effort or expense. If the watch has sentimental or nostalgia value to you I think that is what would make it worth getting a good watchmaker to look at it.

Caravelle by Bulova watch strap adjust

You need to push the pins out in the direction of the arrows. Then take out one link from each side. Put the pins back in the same way they came out, with the slot pointing the same direction as before.
