This is from the KR10 manual. Hope it helps.
1. Set the clock before setting a timer.
2. Insert a recordable disc with enough space.
Then:
1. Press [TIMER PROG] on the remote
2. Use up/down arrows to select "New Program" then press [ENTER]
3.Use up/down arrows to enter the date, then press right arrow
4. Use the arrow keys to enter the start and end time, then press right arrow key.
5. Use the up/down arrows to select the external input position to which your cable/satellite box is connected, then press [right arrow]
6. Use the up/down arrows to select a recording mode.
7. Press [ENTER] when all items are entered.
8. Press red [I/O ON STANDBY] to set a timer programming.

DO NOT FORGET THIS LAST STEP! The timers will not work if the recorder is not in standby mode.

    P.S. From the manual:

"The KR10 will also not record copy protected video, which may include copy protected DVD videos, some satelltie broadcasts, some pay-per-view stations and some "premium" stations.

If copy-protected material is detected, recording will pause or stop automatically, and an error message appears on the screen.

'Copy-once only' video can only be recorded to CPRM compatible DVD-RW formattedmin VR mode."

How can you stop a timer recording early?

Hitting the stop button should over ride any timer command. Some times you need to disengage a mechanical or locking timer button first. it should be in the owners manual.

Lost manual. Cannot get HR A591U JVC VCR program to record a future cable tv program. Seems I have tried everything but it does not record as I set up. It will record an existing show by pressing...

Timer Recording JVC VCR HR A591U

the remote control. The built-in timer allows automatic
unattended recording of up to 8 programs within 1
month.

EXAMPLE: Program a timer recording for the 26th day,

When a TV is connected with an audio/video cable, turn the
TV and this VCR on and select the video input mode on the
TV.

• After timer recording is completed, the VCR turns off
automatically.
• You can program the timer recording while a regular

TIMER REC indicator ( ) will
light and the VCR stands by

I can't find my manual. I need to hook it up so that I can record tv shows I like to watch when I am not home. But I didn't do it right and I am having trouble with the remote also.

You can download a manual from http://www.funai-corp.com/support/manuals.aspx . Click on Customer Support and then Owner's Manual. Remote problems - first try new batteries then try a universal or other replacement remote, http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=EWD2203+&uuid=12828737757670 .

For problems with timed recording, make sure the clock is correctly set. If power goes out for more than 30 seconds, the clock will be incorrect and the timer information will be off. Insert a blank tape (or one you want to record over). Then press Menu and then go to Timer Programming. (Use the up/down arrows and then hit the right arrow button.) Set the frequency of recording followed by the day and start time of the programmed recording. Then set the end time of the recording. Next set the channel number. (with some set top boxes and TV connections, choose 3 or 4 depending on the way the setting of the RF output. Then set the channel on the set top box and leave the box on.) Then set the recording speed. Press T-set to lock in the program. If you want to watch a tape before the program starts, press T-set (turning off the timer light). Remember to press T-set afterwards to resume programmed recording. You can't record to DVDs.

I hope this helps.

Dish DVR recording shows that haven't been programmed to record

This may be caused by as many as three variables.

The first would be that if your neighbor has Dish Network and they have their TV2 near yours it could be picking up their recording preferences. This would create a recording specific to let's say MONSTER TRUCKS.

The next is if you notice MONSTER TRUCKS when trying to view an intended recording at the beginniong or end of the desired recording. This can occur if the start time an end time for your recordings have been set to begin before your intended recording and end after the intended program completed. You can edit this by pressing the DVR button, my recordings, schedule, timers, pick a recording from the list and press select, now press options and you will see the timer options which will allow you to manipulate the start early time and end late time among other things.

Lastly is that your program guide is out of date or the guide is totally errant. Unplug the receiver from the wall for a minute and repower it. This will force the system to update itself if it is not intefered with during this process. If after this procedure the same issue is occurring and the guide says the program you want recorded but retrurns an unwanted one then the guide is corrupted on the Dish Network side and will be repaired as soon as possible.

I hope this assists you. Thanks fornusing Fix Ya.

Timer recording

If the internal clock is not correct, it probably wouldn't let you time record because it would record at the wrong time. Maybe there was a power surge and it caused it to clear the time?
Try setting the time through the menu and if you need a manual, call 1-800-SAMSUNG (if you haven't done that already).
