I downloaded lastest firmware v1.15 for my Philips 42PFL3603D/27 LCD TV. Unzipped it and put it on an empty 8GB jump drive then plugged it into the TV. I unhooked everything to the TV, turned it off, waited 1 or 2 minutes, turned it back on and it never did the auto-start for the firmware upgrade. Am I missing something here? Is the jump drive to big?

When you unzip the file you may need to put it into a file called "upgrades". Try an empty USB stick (size should not matter) and put the autorun file into the upgrades file.

I have a Philips 42" TV mod 42PFL3603D/27 serial;YA1C0824019426 Does not turn on any more the red light at the bottom of the set does not come on either

check for bulging capacitors on the power supply board. you will have to remove the back cover from the television set to get a good look at the power board. If you do notice swollen capacitors, desolder the bad ones out and solder new ones in.

What is the remote control code for philips 42pfl3603d lcd tv

Hi - I had the same question and found it here:
www.universalremote.com/resources/pdfs/UR2-CBL-CV04.pdf
Some TV brands have multiple codes associated to it. You must try each one individually until one of them does the job.
This worked for me beautifully on a brand spanking new Philips 42'' LCD.
Good luck!
