Freon can be added to any unit, but you e going to have to take the unit out to exposed the back where the component are located. Why do you think that you need freon. Unless the line was punctured. it unlikely that you would need to add freon, Is it not getting/keeping cold. Problem might lie elsewhere like in the thermostat. Hope this helps.

How do I add freon to my LG LFX25973D Linear compressor?

why are you adding freon ---if you do not know what your doing around freon [ not like adding to a vehicle ] you can seriously inure you or someone else as well as damaging a unit that may not have needed freon ]-- to add freon to a system you need correct freon -set of gauges -- tap a line valve port --but before you add will need to locate and fix leak --then hook up a vacuum pump --to test fix and get all moisture in lines out must hold at 30 inch vac to boil off moisture if holds for at least 20 to 30 min then can start adding freon then turn on unit and start charging it

Why isn't A/C working?

The AC unit on vehicles will not work if AC is not properly charged. Clutch will not engage. There is internal device that will not let the a/c start if under charged. System has to be evacuated and have fresh freon added to full capacity. Use leak stop and lubricants with the new AC freon.

Check all fuses/ relays for AC unit.

Use a freon gas sniffer/die tool to check for leaks.

Where is the ac port located to add freon

On a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero LTD, the a/c charging port is between the battery and the windshield. It is the port that has a cap labeled with an "L" (Low Side).

When the a/c is on, "L" (Low Side) gets cold while the "H" (High Side) gets hot.

Make sure you use the Low Side (cold) for adding Freon.

(note: over the counter freon kits should not fit the High Side port anyways) 6d9ed8b1-112d-471e-93a4-44bee9a08459.jpg

My air conditioner works but does not cool . i have added freon the last two years and fixed the problem ,did the same thing this year but did not help .

When self adding freon after it leaks out you get air trapped in the system. After adding freon a couple of times the air expands not leaving room for the needed freon. To continue adding freon with air tapped will knock the compressor out pretty quickly, there's not enough room for both & the air is keeping the freon from being able to cool properly give the false indication of being low on freon. The freon you are adding has the dye added to assist in finding the leak since freon does not evaporate nor dissipate it its being leaked out. A black light will assist locating the leak. The best thing is to have the unit checked & serviced by a mechanic...he'll charge about $ 150.00 to check for leaks, remove the old freon...his machine will tell him how much air its trapped in the system by how little freon is removed. For the service fee he will replace valves & gaskets, where needed, correcting most leaks. After sucking the system down & recharging the problem should be corrected.

The front air conditioner on my 2003 dodge grand caravan has a small leak that the dealship says is under the dash. Can I just put a charge on the front unit the back unit blows cold air. Is this...

There is only one system, so your conclusion doesn't make sense. If the front evaporator is leaking, the whole system will lose charge, and the back will not be cooling. Your problem may actually be the front blend door. Recommend you get a second opinon. Evaporator replacement is much more than $300.

Gt500 takes a long time for to cool down the interior. Outside airtemp is about 100 F. Used Max cool controls with fan selected to max as well. Took to the dealer twice and leak was repaired or so they...

You can add a can of stopo leak to the unit yourself. Locate the unit, you will see a dryer and on the side of the dryer you will see a valve for adding freon. Purchase the correct type of freon. R-22 or R-134A with a dispenser. Start the car, turn the AC on high connect and add the freon. If it cools down the leak is still present. Take it back to the dealer.

Unit was leaking at rear coil, sealed the leak but know it needs freon. Can it be added?

All fridges, freezers, coolers, etc need access ports added to them before any refrigerant can be added to them. Makes you wonder how they do that eh?

Has anyone added some freon? The unit has way too much freon inside it. You need someone to reclaim the freon and weigh in the right amount of freon. If you run the unit the way it is will cause some very serious damage. Let me know ken
