My laptop is lenovo y 410. Ever since i installed windows 7 bluetooth in laptop is not workin. I installed a driver manually but still the problem persists. it is showing icon but there are no options regarding file transfer. please suggest something useful.

Lenovo do not have Windows 8 bluetooth drivers on their support site.
You could try loading the WIndows 7 drivers (Broadcom Bluetooth Driver for Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit)

you need to update the drivers. search the manufactures web site for drivers for this laptop. also i think realtec is providing the sound for your laptop, is so you can also go there and search for win 7 drivers.

According to the information online, the Bluetooth Driver for the Windows 7 Operating System has not been released.

However, let me provide you the alternate options to resolve the issue.

1) You may first download the Windows Vista Bluetooth Driver from the below link:

2) Then, download the Universal Extractor Application from the below link:

3) Once you have downloaded the Universal Extractor Application, please install it by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Once the Application is installed successfully, please locate the Downloaded Bluetooth Driver.

5) Right-click on the downloaded Driver and select the "Uni-extract Files" option.

6) Then, press "OK".

7) This will extract the files inside the .exe Installer.

8) Once the extract is complete, please look for another Setup(.exe) file inside the extracted folder.

9) Double-click on the Setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the Driver.

10) As we have extracted the Files before installing, the Bluetooth Driver should be installed successfully.

You can download the drivers from Lenovo support site. Just check the back of your notebook for the serial number. Lenovo support downloads ask for that. Then, get the drivers. Turn on the bluetooth first.

Download the XP drivers for Windows XP. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, download the Vista drivers. Be sure to install the Chipset drivers first and then the sound drivers. Only then can you install bluetooth drivers properly.

if you install xp then find out the xp drivers in www.lenovo.com > select country > support and downloads > model number> etc. After downloading file >install the driver > after installation reboot your computer > after machin on you just switch on the wifi or bluetooth switch (near you laptop hinzes) and try it.

go to the lenovo site and search the model of your lenovo and download the bluetooth driver.. your bluetooth driver might not installed on the laptop..
