Had repair man come. The coax connection going to TV from receiver had went bad in the receiver. The other connectors in box worked but not the coax anymore that is why the box worked on other TV since using video and sound cables. Got new box for signing up for another 18 months with Direct TV. Didn't have to have splitter to just get Satalite so that wasn't the problem at all. Any of the splitters I had would have worked.
If this is a recent occurrence, unplug receiver for 20 minutes. This will reset the receiver. If the remote is programmable, reprogram it for the receiver. If you do these steps and it does not work, you need a different remote.
Hi on my ONKYO amp i have to press the receiver button to work most features if you press the volume button and this dose not light up the remote is trying to work something other than the amp,eg if the dvd button lights up it is working your dvd player if you have it set for this.PRESS the receiver button and it should work.
please apply a new fresh battery to it-confirm from right orientation(polarity)-try to apply a contact cleaner spray over the bad button and press it many times.-remove any thing between remote and receiver.-you can use universal remote and confirm befor you buy the new remote that it support your receiver.
