I have the same problem...manufactured July of 2005. xms -2 Clock works, key pad works, doesn't register door as being shut so it leaves the light on and won't accept a start command.

Not working

Some of your story seems impossible. Closed doors do not cause anything. Aging capacitors can cause fuses to go. They also stabilize the magnetron. My bet is the capacitor blew. I have no idea why the fan doesn't work, once the cabinet is open it will become obvious.

Magic chef microwave runs backwards with door closed and no time set - works normally when time is set and door is closed - any ideas?

Probably a bad door switch or door switch mount. See help file here.

It's normal for a microwave turntable to run either direction at random. That's common in such AC motors.

Microwave "DOOR" in display.

Most likely the switch that senses whether or not the door is closed is either out of adjustment, meaning when the door closes it doesn't physically make the switch contacts close, or the switch is defective. If you can physically find the switch you can "trick" it by holding it closed with a piece of tape. If that works then the switch is simply out of adjustment. If that doesn't work then you can short together the two wires going to the switch which simulates the closed internal contacts of the switch. If that works your switch has failed. If neither works then you may have a broken switch wire or solder joint where the switch inputs it's signal to a circuit board. If it is a bad circuit board you may spend the same amout of money replacing the board as you would buying a new microwave. Please be careful with theses test procedures and remember dealing with electricity can be a shocking experience! Good luck.

My microwave comes on lights work but doesn't heat food

The most likely cause is a defective magnetron, "heats food" cost to repair will be close to a new microwave oven.

MICROWAVE DOESN'T GO ROUND HEAT UP OR MAKE ANY NOISE LETTING ME KNOW IT;S WORKING

I'm assuming it's JVM2070SKC02?

No matter, because sadly on the 2070-series ovens, GE does not make repair documents or separate controller parts available.

So you would have to order a whole new control panel assembly at a cost of several hundred dollars.

It looks like yours is a Canadian model, and if so I would have no idea where to get the parts.

Maybe GE Customer Support can help you if it's under warranty or close. Consult your owner's manual.

Sometimes when I go to heat something in the microwave it doesn't heat but when I open the door and then close it it sometimes will work?

Sounds like the door switch is going bad this is the switch that "tells" the microwave the door is closed so that way it doesn't run with it open
